Greetings, dear Brethren in Christ ~

You may recall that last December we were in England with Modern Jesus Army to teach them The Elijah Challenge.

There was a young brother there named Tom who had recently gone blind. It was likely hereditary in nature. During the Training session, believers ministered to him with authority, but his eyesight was not restored. But in January the following month we received the following testimony from Peter Pap, a leader with Modern Jesus Army.

Tom who was healed by the Lord

"You may remember that Tom has gone blind about 6-7 months ago, and medically there was no hope for him. The doctors could not do anything for him really other than put him on the usual help for the blind programs and allocating a guide dog to him. He was quite put off by all this, felt rather frustrated. Tom recently started to "pick himself up", made sure his life did not stop just because this disability, he laughed a lot with the others, started to go to the gym and so on.

After months of ministering and seeking the Lord about him, last night he was still blind with not even a sign of improvement. Then two small children ministered to him last night and..... Tom woke up this morning to go to the toilet and found himself being able to clearly see! He quickly woke up his brothers in his community house others, they tested and confirmed the miracle (by making Tom to make a cup of tea for everyone, which was done perfectly done!).
Now we are rejoicing with our brother and praising God for His wonderful ways!"

Dear Brethren in Christ,

Last night we returned home to Houston from burying my mother in New York. Twelve days ago she had gone home to be with the Lord at the age of 96 years. The Lord had used her in her own way to help us greatly in the work of the gospel since we began serving God full-time in 1978. We continue to miss and remember her.

Early this morning as I stirred from sleep I sensed the words “finish the race” in my spirit. I came downstairs to write. I’d like to share with you what I wrote.

Mom had stayed with Lucille and me for most of her last 19 years on earth. Over the last few years of her life she needed more and more care from us. During the past year she was admitted to a nursing home facility where we visited her twice a day when we were in town and not ministering overseas. Now she is with the Lord, and no longer needs our care. And just two days after Mom left us, our dear family dog Tuffy of nearly 14 years also passed away. This added to our grief. But we believe the Lord had a purpose in this. There is no longer anyone at home who needs our care.

By the grace of God we have labored for Him for over three decades as missionary, local pastor, and now teaching and equipping the body of Christ around the world. Since The Elijah Challenge began in 2000, ten of thousands of servants of God and disciples have been trained how to heal the sick and cast out demons as Jesus taught and commanded His disciples when he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God. Some disciples we have trained have gone on to be very fruitful for the Lord.

With the Lord’s wonderful grace our marriage of 37 years is doing very well. We have learned to treat one another with kindness and gentleness. Lucille who is nearing 60 years of age remains youthful and pretty.

By His grace we have matured in the knowledge of His son Jesus Christ. We are careful to obey the Lord’s holy commands producing good fruit for Him; and to live a holy life to honor Him.

Like Paul, we can now say:
“Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God.” (2 Corinthians 2:17)

Moreover, “we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God. (2 Corinthians 4:2)

I am now 62 years old, and am already considered a Senior Citizen qualifying for various discounts. But by God’s grace I am in very good health; both of my parents passed away in their mid-nineties. According to a Blood Pressure Chart on the internet, my blood pressure, which is in the 100s over 60s, is that of a young person. I do not take drugs or medication of any kind.

Since I am a steward of my body which is God’s temple, I take good care of it. I go to the gym about six times a week. I can easily bench press my own body weight several times. I exercise self-control and am very careful with what I eat and drink. We do not have health insurance coverage of any kind and very little retirement funds set aside for the future, but with the Lord’s help we will never need any.

Indeed all this is the wondrous grace of God at work in us.

Now with the Lord taking Mom we are in transition---shall we say, at “half time” in a football game. Our “second wind” is about to kick in. We are to finish the race going away. I sense this is what the Lord is telling us. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded (Luke 12:48).

Brethren, please continue to pray for us and partner with us. We want to be increasingly fruitful for the kingdom of God in the years to come---more productive than ever. In five weeks we are scheduled to be training 300 to 400 Assemblies of God pastors in Indonesia at their yearly nation-wide meeting for leaders.

We again echo the words of Paul the apostle:
“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:12-14)

This was Paul’s raison d’être, the reason he lived. He did not live for worldly success, accomplishments, and rewards in this life from God. No, he was straining toward the goal of the heavenly prize---his reward in heaven. Unfortunately, many popular preachers today use the lure of earthly success from God to draw crowds unto themselves, and will persuasively use Scripture to support their teaching.

But Paul warned all believers in the very next verse:

“All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.” (Philippians 3:15)

Paul’s reason for living was not limited to and applicable for apostles only. It was for “all of us who are mature.” Let us grow up now and mature in Christ. Let us leave behind childish things like focusing on earthly success and accomplishments primarily for the sake of enjoyment in this life. Rather, whatever we do in this life should be for “pressing on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called us heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

Then some day along with Paul we can all say, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day--and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." (2 Timothy 4:7-8)

Thank you again for asking the Lord to comfort and strengthen us at this time. He has answered your prayers wonderfully.

Anti-Christian Extremist Healed By Jesus

In 2008, believers in Orissa, India, suffered intense persecution at the hands of anti-Christian extremists. They destroyed Christians' homes and burned churches to the ground. They went so far as to beat, rape, burn and murder believers.

Haroon Das helped lead this brutality against Christians. When the riots against believers in Orissa began, he traveled throughout his district to stir up violence.

“They destroyed Christians' homes and burned churches to the ground. They went so far as to beat, rape, burn and murder believers.”

On August 27, 2008, Haroon returned to his home village. He led a mob that damaged the church building of a Gospel for Asia-supported missionary. Haroon was one of the extremists who shattered the windows, broke the cross on top of the building and set fire to the contents of the building.

The riots subsided, but Haroon himself began experiencing a problem. One of his legs became weak and caused him great pain. Eventually, one side of his body was completely paralyzed.

With all his physical strength evaporated, Haroon's normal daily life came to a halt. He didn't understand why this happened.

He went to doctors and spent lots of money on medical treatment, but he remained paralyzed.

Someone was brave enough to tell Haroon that when Christians pray, a person can receive healing from any kind of sickness. He thought about going to church, but then talked himself out of it.

"I have persecuted these people very badly, and if I go to them, how can they pray for me?" he asked himself.

Haroon finally mustered up the courage to go.

He showed up at a prayer meeting on a Tuesday night. He was shocked when the believers happily joined in prayer for him—the man who destroyed their church! Haroon brought his whole family—his wife, two children and his mother—to church the following Sunday.

“I have persecuted these people very badly, and if I go to them, how can they pray for me?”

When the worship service ended, the pastor, Gospel for Asia-supported missionary Bhajan Sen, led the whole congregation in prayer for Haroon's physical ailments.

Haroon and his family continued coming to church functions, and after some time, God completely healed him! Thankful and repentant, he confessed that the Lord had done this miracle. Haroon and his family decided to give their lives to Jesus.

Although he is facing opposition from his older brother and from some of the other villagers, Haroon refuses to turn his back on Christ. His brother is threatening to cut him off from the rest of the family, but Haroon says he will stand firm in his relationship with Jesus regardless of the consequences.

Like the people of Israel in Ezekiel's day, Haroon was called by the God who says, "As I live...I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways!" (Ezekiel 33:11 NKJV) By the mercy of Christ, Haroon no longer harasses the Lord's people. Instead, he joins with them in worshiping his Savior.

Son of high government official healed; $19,000 offering refused by disciple

An atheist who is a very high-ranking government official came to our fellowship with his son who had lost life in the lower part of his body. Doctors said that he would stay like that all his life. Hearing this the man cried and said to the doctors, “Please, I am willing to spend as much money as necessary, but get my son well.”

One of his relatives who is a believer and who had attended Brother Simon’s healing meetings said to him, “Jesus can heal your son. I know a servant of God who ministers and people get healed.” The arrogant atheist said, “Give him 10 lakhs [over US$19,000]. I want my son to be well.”

So the family arrived at Simon’s home for him to heal his child and also offered the money. Since there were many people in his living room, Simon took him to his personal room. When they came out, the boy was healed---walking and jumping for joy.

The atheist fell at Simon's feet. Simon said to him, “the grace of God cannot be bought but experienced.” He refused to take the money. I am not revealing his name since he is a very high government official.

Recently I studied the Elijah Challenge Basic and Advanced Training material over the internet. Just when I was about to finish the Advanced Training, an email came through about an unsaved daughter of a believer. The daughter had an irregular heartbeat, kidney cysts and a number of other things, seemingly out of nowhere and for no reason. God put it on my heart that I was to apply what I had learned to her situation.

I contacted her believing mother and asked whether her daughter would be open to meet for me to take authority over the sickness and/or demons and cast them out. The mother contacted the daughter who agreed to meet. Prior to the meeting, as an act of new found boldness, I sent her a text telling her that she was going to be completely healed by the only God that can heal, save and deliver.

For whatever reason, we were unable to meet (probably enemy intervention). So, I sent her a text with the command that I was going to say over her. She responded and thanked me for caring.

Her mum has just sent through an email saying that she is completely healed. She will not require a pace maker to regulate her heart and she will not require an operation to remove cysts of anything else.

Thank you for helping me get out of the boat and do what the master said I could! I just sent the daughter another text and told her to thank God for her healing and to do business with the Lord.

I am in a very conservative church that does not believe in healing but I think that God has plans to change that mindset!

We just received a testimony which we'd like to share with you. The sister's name is Tammie G.

"I would like to share my testimony with you. I'll try to make it short. I am a 50 year old married woman & I'm in menopause. In August of 2011 I had a monthly cycle which is abnormal given I'm in menopause. I called my doctor & scheduled an appointment. She took a biopsy and pap smear. The pap smear result came back showing slightly abnormal cells. The biopsy was normal. Since the pap smear was abnormal my doctor performed one more test per her protocol. She tested me for the HPV virus and the test came back positive. My doctor shared the results with me which was devastating to hear. She said I now need to have a cervical biopsy to determine if the cells show signs of early cervical cancer. Especially since the HPV virus can lead to cervical cancer.

I started praying about this immediately and decided I was going to believe God for complete healing from whatever was trying to take root in me. Prior to all of this I had become dissatisfied with the results from my prayer group. We were praying about many things especially healing from cancer but weren't seeing any results. I decided to do an internet search on healings as a way to encourage myself as I waited on God to bring my healing to fruition. I ran across your site and started reading the training manual. I read up to the point where you said to go and heal somebody in the name of Jesus.

Since I didn't have anyone immediately that I could heal I said to myself "Since I need healing I'll have to start with me." I followed the instructions and with authority commanded healing to myself in Jesus' name. I did this for a few days. The peace of God came on me and I believed that my healing was complete. I went to my doctor's appointment to have my cervical biopsy done. I asked the doctor for another pap smear test and another HPV test. A week later she called me and told me all of my tests came back normal. Praise God!

I also have a leaky aortic valve. I was born with a heart murmur (leaky valve). I had a big episode (heart failure) 11 years ago after the birth of my son. I was close to heart surgery but God healed & delivered me from it. But earlier this year my cardiologist said my heart valve showed some leakage again. I believe God healed my heart valve too. I'll report back in a few months after I have another test.

Thank you so much for the teaching. It has cleared up my misunderstandings. I'm not done reading the training manual but so far it's been excellent."

Brother Jim Hathaway of British Columbia, Canada attended The Elijah Challenge Advanced Training in Houston in February 2008. Since then, the Lord has used him to minister healing to many people. This is one of the many testimonies of healing that happened when Brother Jim ministered in July 2011 in Juarez, Mexico.

This mom was wearing glasses and had cataracts. I was asked to minister to her. After two efforts there seemed to be little improvement. She shared how the day before she had been reading how Jesus had made mud out of clay with his spit and wanted me to do the same. I admit I was a little out of my comfort zone but complied.

There is not much clay in the desert but after 10 minutes of searching one of the pastors found some. I asked for some water to make the paste but she insisted that I use my spit. Again I complied and made a paste and applied it to her eye lids and commanded healing. Immediately she went into a very powerful, dramatic worship time that lasted a few minutes.

When she opened her eyes not only were her cataracts gone but her sight was restored too. She told her husband “Now that I can see you, you are more handsome than I remembered.” I cried when I heard this.

From Pain to Gain

Within the period of 10 years, my health condition worsened and slidrapidly down the steep slope of pain. The little known genetic disorder,ankylosing spondylitis, was taking over my life. This is a chronic inflammatoryarthritis of the spine, also known as ‘bamboo spine’. It is an inherited autoimmunedisease that causes the joints in the spine to fuse up and there is no cure.

I did not realise the seriousness of this disabling disease even thoughit had caused a hairline crack in my spine when I was only 18 years old. As Igrew older, I began to experience regular bouts of back pain and numbness ofthe limbs.

After passing 40, the pain had increased to a point where it affectedthe movements of my limbs. My spine had fused up, causing my back to hunch. Myhealth deteriorated further and pain became my regular companion. To manage thepain, I popped ibuprofen, a powerful painkiller. On bad days, I had to take upto eight pills – the maximum dosage permitted in a day.

Standing, walking or sitting, for a prolonged period, became a problem.Before too long, I sought the help of walking aids such a walking stick orcane. I had to use a wheelchair for long distance travels.

My MercifulGod

There were nights when my back was so painful that sleeping becameimpossible. I had to lie face down like a turtle over a few stacked layers ofpillows.

During every chronic pain attack, I cried to God for help. I had nostrength of my own; I could only cling to Him. On many occasions, I had prayedand asked God to either heal or take me home to heaven. He didn’t. Instead, Hebrought the peace of heaven into my struggling soul. The throbbing pain did notstop but His presence helped me overcome many a tough night.

Later I learned that God was not silent about my pain but set the motionof healing in process. How this happened could only be described as the mercyand grace of God in operation.

God’s SpecialPlan

Itwas our dentist, Dr. Thiagan Sinnadurai, a dedicated servant of God whochallenged my wife Grace and me to attend a healing seminar organised by hishouse church. I was not keen to attend because I knew that I did not have thegift of healing. For over 20 years of my ministry, I did not see manysuccessful healing miracles after my prayers. In fact, a few people died afterI prayed.

Onthat hot day of 8 December 2005, Grace drove me to the healing seminar. I wasnot in the most amiable mood. I had work to do and my nerve was also notaccommodating. When we could not find a parking space, I was elated. Now, Icould miss the seminar and give a great excuse to Dr. Thiagan. However, God hadother plan and He opened up a nice parking space for us. Still mumbling undermy breath, with Grace helping me, I walked slowly to the training location atBangsar.

God’s Healing Approach

Thatday was to become a defining moment of my life and ministry. Pastor WilliamLau, an American-Chinese, with a gentle Christ-like spirit, was systematic inhis teaching. In his Elijah Challenge teaching, there were no strange doctrinesor scary testimonies of being caught to heaven. This founder of the ElijahChallenge was not there to impress us with his theology but simply allowing thescriptural verses to speak for themselves.

Verseupon verse, precept upon precept, line upon line, my eyes were opened. Suddenlyeverything made sense. Why didn’t they teach me this in the bible seminary?Even after earning a Master in Divinity, this truth in the Bible had completelyeluded me.

Whywas I not told that there is a difference between the gift of healing and theauthority to heal? Why didn’t the professors teach us how to use the kinglyauthority to do spiritual warfare and heal the sick in the context of preachingthe Gospel?

Themost fascinating part was when Pastor Lau said that he would demonstrate thisGod-given power and authority by healing some of the participants in the nameof Jesus. He did exactly that. A few participants were healed of the back pain,leg pain and other infirmities.

Thenhe invited some of us to try. I remember feeling the pain in my own back andfacing an Indian pastor who claimed to have three numb toes. With a fellowparticipant, I laid my hand on the toes and commanded the feeling to return inthe name of Jesus. To my great surprise, the pastor claimed that feeling hadreturned to his toes and he quickly testified to the other participants. Thatwas my first experience in having immediate healing result after ministering.

The Elijah Challenge

Iwas to attend the same seminar another three more times and then to take anadvance training with Pastor Lau. Since then, my ministry has been completelytransformed. It is filled with power and miracles which is line with what thebible says about the kingdom of God as not being a matter of talk but of power(1 Corinthians 4:20).

Graceand I had personally healed many in the name of Jesus with the God-givenauthority and power. In the last five years, we have trained Christians fromboth the mainline and Pentecostal/Charismatic churches in seminars and trainingsessions. We have the joy of seeing our trainees healing the infirm in the nameof Jesus and literally thousands are being miraculously healed.

Many Healing Miracles

Thistestimony from one of our many healing mission trips to the Philippines isamong the more interesting ones:

The elderly lady sat transfixed asafter many years, for the first time, she could clearly hear the voice of herdaughter. I had just placed my fingers into the elderly lady’s impaired earsand commanded them to be opened in the name of Jesus. Then to test whether shewas really healed, the daughter went to about one metre behind her and begancalling out words and phrases in a normal voice. The elderly lady repeated everyword and phrase accurately – she was healed and she could hear clearly.

Hereis a testimony of distant healing:

Our Chinese Service's pastor, RevEdward Chiu's mother-in-law was in coma after taking the wrong medicine for hertuberculosis. She was in that situation for four days and she lived far awayfrom our church in another state. Rev Chiu and I took authority over the comaby using the healing-at-a-distance approach. We commanded her body to respondto the healing touch of Jesus and also for her to be revived from her coma.About two hours later, the sister-in-law discovered that the mother hadawakened. Praise the Lord! Now we know that healing-at-a-distance works alsowith us.

Someof those trained pastors have gone on to include The Elijah Challenge’sapproach of healing in their ministries. Rev Timothy Lam is one of thosetrained and recently ministered in Guilin, China. His testimony came this way:

An elderly man who could not speakfor many years, started to utter words after being ministered to. His wifewanted to hear him say, "I love you"... and he did. Slowly butsurely, he said those lovely words to his wife after many years of dumbness.[In Chinese, the words would sound like "wo ai ni."]

Thistype of scenario is repeating in many congregations around the world. FromVietnam to Africa, Singapore to Dubai, Malaysia to United Kingdom, India toUnited States, thousands have been healed in the name of Jesus. What is sospecial about this type of healing ministries? Today we serveas coordinators of the Elijah Challenge Asia and our primary task is teachingcongregations how to heal in the name of Jesus within the context ofevangelism.

God’s Special Touch

Whathappened to my own dilapidating condition? Without much fanfare, I was miraculouslyhealed. While I was busy healing others in the name of Jesus, God was quietlyhealing me. One day, I got up without pain. For a short period of time, I stillcarried my walking stick just in case it was only a brief remission. After awhile, it seemed silly to carry the walking stick when there was no pain and soI left it at home.

Therewere many occasions when the pain threatened to return but my dear wife was everready to rebuke the pain for me. Today, after five years, the pain recurrencehas reduced to almost zero. I still have to be careful not to lift heavy stuffsor jump off the stage while preaching. The Lord is merciful and Grace and I areforever grateful.

Elderly couple with heart condition now runs down the stairs

Quatro Barras is likely one of many similar hamlets spreading out on both sides of the expressway which takes you the big capital city of Curitiba maybe 20 km away.

My host here is Pastor Manoel of the Christian Community Church of Quatro Barras, a relatively new congregation of mostly younger couples, young adults and children. Last night we began the Basic Training. At the demonstration of healing near the end of the session, an elderly couple hobbled very slowly to the front. Both had heart conditions. Two brothers and two sisters came forward to minister healing to them as Jesus might have done as recorded in the gospels. They laid hands on them and exercised authority over the heart disease in Jesus' name.

By the time the dust settled, the wife was able to jog (slowly) to the back of the church and then back to the front---feeling fine. She testified that earlier she was dizzy and could barely walk. Her husband also testified that he felt fine as he walked back and forth at the front. After the meeting they refused a ride home by car but instead walked home on foot.

A woman Brazilian physician, who had served as a missionary doctor, had to retire from serving because of a heart condition.

On Thursday night when the disciples ministered to people with heart conditions she came forward to be healed and she felt God's healing touch. Yesterday she went to be examined by her doctor.

Today she came to the final training session and testified from the stage waving in her hands a big white envelope. It contained the results of the examination and medical documentation showing that her heart was now completely normal!

This morning I had breakfast with Rodolfo Montosa, my dear host pastor at the First Independent Presbyterian Church of Londrina who hosted me earlier this month when I here. He shared with me that many, many miracles have taken place through his trained leaders after I returned to the United States. In particular he told me about Dr. Oziel, a physician who is one of his elders. This is the doctor who passed out forty copies of our Training Manual after the Lord used him to heal a young girl of severe epilepsy. Dr. Oziel is now very bold in healing the sick in Jesus' name. Below are some testimonies from him.

There was a woman who used her hands extensively making chocolate in a chocolate factory, but had been struck down by a disease causing various physical symptoms in her body, including pain and immobility in her hands. She had been taking various drugs and medications for the condition, but there was no relief from her suffering. Dr. Oziel's mother urged him to go see the woman, but he said that it was not necessary---he would simply minister healing to her over the telephone.

Dr. Oziel called her on the telephone. He first shared Psalm 103 with her, telling her that the Lord could heal her disease and more importantly could forgive her sins. Then he prayed to the Lord for her. After prayer, he rebuked the condition and commanded her healing in Jesus' name. Immediately afterwards while still on the phone the woman was amazed to discover that the symptoms had vanished. She was overwhelmed and wept for joy. Calling on the name of the Lord who had healed her with Dr. Oziel on the line, her sins were forgiven. She became a follower of Jesus Christ.

There was also a man who had suffered from an aneurysm and for several months had been at home in a coma. Dr. Oziel and other trained leaders went to minister to him. Later that week, the man awoke and got up out of bed. His family was overjoyed.

As his mother, Christina Berrien, told the Augusta Journal, "The results [of some tests] came back. They said it was a rare infection that shows the same signs as Hodgkins lymphoma. They said it's only happened one other time. It was five years ago."

William's footbal coach, Russ Schneider, went a step further in sharing his belief: "I tell you what happened. He got diagnosed with cancer, and not only this whole community, every one of you, every teacher, every parent, churches we don't even know about got on their knees and started praying. He had about 10% hearing as a result and a lifetime of strong pain in his ear and head. We ministered to him and the pain left completely. The next morning the stuff that had been transplanted fell out of his ear and he could hear normally. Thank you, Jesus.'

Healing Miracles At Umbrella Fair, Northampton, England

We just received a report from Peter Pap who ministered healing with his team at the open-air healing outreach at the Umbrella Fair (where a variety of healing was offered from Eastern to Reiki and also church groups offered prayers, etc.) in Northampton, England. Around 90% of the people who came to Peter's team were clearly healed and Jesus Christ was glorified. Thank you for interceding for them, dear ones!

Thanks for the continuous support and prayer covering. I must report really positive news from today's healing tent:

Junett - already a believer, but backslidden. She was on the way to ask for some strong painkillers when we met her. She had arthritis in the hip and also inflammation as a left over from some removed lumps from her abdominal part. The symptoms of arthritis disappeared. She felt like the infection/inflammation had also disappeared. (And did not need painkilllers). We encouraged her to return to more active fellowship with Jesus and deal with her past in prayers.

A man in his 40's - finger injury - could not move his finger and he had constant pain. Commanded 3 times - at last the pain was completely gone and he could move his finger. His family was there watching and were amazed. I shared the gospel with them and agreed that he will explore more of Jesus.

Neil - chest pain (probably muscular, but possible related to being overweight) - First the pain eased up, for the second ministry it was totally gone.

Debbie - she had back pain - instantly healed. While ministering to her I had a word for her that the real cause is her right foot. She told me that she had an accident on that and it is true that since then her posture has changed and back pains began. We ministered against that too. Her friend Lisa standing there (who was first very sceptical) opened up by seeing the healing and also received something of Jesus. I prayed with both of them after and they went with my blessings saying that they will consider giving their lives completely to God. Let it be, Lord!

Adam - a young man came for healing for his injured back. Shoulder pains were gone instantly, the lower back after a few more minutes ministering. Him and his friend both received well the gospel, asked questions and wanted to know God more. I've got their contact details for follow up.

Sharon - a lady with damage of both eyes. Her vision is still very poor. After ministering her sight got more clear, but not as much as we would like it to be. We agreed to keep in touch and seek God together.
Sharon's daughter Hannah also came for healing with a severe condition. She is 17, but the size of a 7-8 years old. Hannah's spine is in constant discomfort and her right leg muscles did not develop and the leg did not grow properly. She can only walk slowly with a limp. Her right leg is in a plastic cast and completely de-sensitized. I ministered to her several times. The spine discomfort went more or less straight away (she also said that she felt a warmth running through her whole body, like energizing her wanting to run). The leg though did not get any better. We agreed with them to keep in touch. (They both responded well to the message about Jesus wanting to heal them physically as well as restoring them to eternal unity with the Father).

Primrose - this was probably the most powerful one today. This lady came in a wheelchair, she had a car accident in 2009 and more or less all the major bones and muscles in her body got injured. Shoulder, legs, neck, teeth and hips etc. After ministering I felt that this is just the beginning of a longer process, but I wanted to somehow test it. I asked her if she can walk at all. She said no, she hasn't been on her feet for 2 years. So I told her to try to walk now. I offered my arm to lean on. (She is a quite big lady, so it was a brave offer). She slowly raised from the armchair, stood on her feet and slowly started to make steps. By the second step she was already exclaiming saying "This is a miracle! I haven't stood on these feet for 2 years and now I can walk!". Well, it was beautiful. By this time a crowd gathered there to watch. After about 3-4 steps she was exhausted and stepped back (!) to the wheelchair and sat down. She was very-very delighted and praised God (without anyone asking her to do it).......watching her standing up a young girl bravely stepped to me and said "Wow, this is just sooo cool. Can I just stay here with you?". So after I finished with Primrose and we exchanged details this girl told me that she is diagnosed with depression. I found out that her dad has been a victim of depression too. So we broke the curses and we together prayed for her healing and for finding God. She actually asked me to pray so she will know God. So we did. She is only 13, so I didn't feel right asking for any contact details. But she won't forget this day.

A believer (a sister called Jannice) came for healing from arthritis in her hand - and the pain and symptoms were gone immediately.

A lady called Sue - pain and tension in the back - immediate healing.

A young lady called Sarah came with her boyfriend. She asked for healing of her stomach as there was an unknown swelling in it with pain. As I ministered the pain was gone quickly, but I had a word that the cause is actually self-hate. (It wasn't obvious as she appeared to be a confident and pretty young girl). As soon as I told her this and I mentioned the word "self hate" she collapsed and cried. Her boyfriend was there all the way through and that was great. She got healed and I prayed for both of them and we agreed to keep in touch.

A lady called Jo - she had stomach ache - immediate healing - she responded to the gospel very well.
Soooo.... William, I think today we had around 90% success in terms of clear-cut, obvious healings. This is brilliant. People being miraculously healed and some finding faith. Glory to God for this all!!!! The team members and others from the church also got encouraged and motivated by this - so more to come :-)

I can't explain how great it is to explore this simple and so obviously Biblical way of evangelism! Amazing... the sick are healed, the gospel of the Kingdom is preached. Truly the Messiah is glorified!

Testimonies Of Those Being Affected By Kundalini Spirits

I went to Lakeland 3 times. I was so drawn to go there. I really thought it was of God... I had so many supernatural experiences - to seeing a mystical Jesus with a third eye, angels talking to me, visions, being transported. I cry out to the Lord everyday for total deliverance. It has been horrible. I have renounced and repented, but still fighting. How do we get free of this?

I can testify that I was infested with this foul eastern spirit, the kundalini. I was in a movement from 1992 - 2000 which had close links with the Toronto movement. From 2000 - 2006 I joined a church with links to Bill Johnson.

I was desperate for God to move in my life and change situations and heal hurts and was very open to ministry - I had many in this movement touch my forehead and experienced the manifestations you describe - drunkenness, laughing and crying, shaking. I got dreams and visions and just before I left the structure (church) I had a vivid dream of a huge python that came through the back door and ttached itself to my car, and also to rooms in my home. I was very disturbed and sought the Lord for an answer.

It took about 6 months before I was delivered, but God brought a couple over my path who God had trained and had victory over spiritual entities. Every time I was in their presence, I would get very anxious, and they would calmly pray for me and I could feel darkness leaving and my sanity restored. It was only after 6 months of these episodes, I was again in their presence and sensed a fight ensue in the Spirit.

I was very anxious and fearful and could feel a huge snake in my spine - I was rigid and very uncomfortable - It felt as if this thing wanted to throttle me and rob me of my life. I called out to God and they quietly prayed - then I asked the lady to pull this serpent out of my head - it felt as if it could exit near the top of my crown. She continued to pray and I got the word "kundalini " in my spirit and just commanded this thing by its name to go in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. I pled the blood as it was very frightening, and it left. I felt like a washed out rag, but I was free!

That was the last lime I had deliverance and my spiritual eyes have since opened and God has done a mighty work in me outside of the structure... Afterwards they were amazed and asked me what strange term I had used and where it came from - I had no idea except that it was God who gave me knowledge in that situation.

Thank you for the info that has made everything clear to me! I now have confirmation from where I was infected! May many of your readers heed the call of God to "come out and sever yourselves" from Babylon and its lies and deception and foul spirits, while there is time...

David Wilkerson also mentioned the kundalini spirit, and I researched it in late October, after having attended the Fredericksburg (Virginia) Prayer Furnace at which Che Ahn ministered.

There, I saw many of the manifestations you mention: hopping and jumping during "worship", falling backward at Che Ahn's touch, extreme jerkiness in several cases. Very uncomfortable with this, I came home and watched (my first time ever) videos of Todd Bentley. Needless to say, I was appalled...

Drunkenness is the complete opposite of being filled with the Holy Spirit! For sober-mindedness is a filling of Him!; 1 Peter 1:13, 4:7, and 5:8 ...

I truly wonder what God is going to do to those ministries who have been spreading this alien spirit right through the Body of Christ. Truly, Judgment must begin "at the house of God."

"To tell the truth, none of us here in Hong Kong have heard of this Kundalini spirit. But I have seen and been involved in what was described in the Youtube video by Andrew Strom. The shaking, laughing, and falling down is so common here."
"I had that Kundalini spirit in me!! I used to have the violent shaking and jerking. My mouth was opening and closing like yawning until my jaw ached. This happened when I went forward for prayer in a Sunday night service in Hong Kong. I would fall down and jerk violently. And I used to think I was responding to the presence of the Holy Spirit.
But later I kept asking the Lord if it was not of Him, to get rid of it. The pastor said to wait and let the Holy Spirit do His work. This went on for more than a year or two as far as I can remember. This was like 6 or 7 years ago. When my sister came over from New Zealand about 5 years ago, we spent one evening praying. The moment I started to pray in tongues, I was shaking and jerking violently and got my sister's attention. We sought the Lord.
And she kept remembering our dad's Indian friends' names. Immediately I recalled Uncle Telang. My parents rented a room to him (this was when we lived in Malaysia) and he worked in the British Camp (the British had military base in Malaysia then) with my dad. He was of the Brahmin caste (the priestly one). I was about 11 or 12 years old and he always called me to do his manicure and pedicure and gave me pocket money. This was going on for many years then.
I just called it an Indian spirit not knowing about the Kundalini spirit. So I repented, renounced and rededicated my life to Jesus then. And my sister prayed over me. I don't have the shaking now."

Are You Affected By Kundalini Spirits?

BE CAREFUL ABOUT KUNDALINI SPIRITS!

Not all experiences are from God. (I am talking here about the violent "jerking", uncontrollable laughter, bodily contortions, drunkenness, 'portals', strange "angel" encounters, etc.)

Why do we not see such an 'anointing' in the Bible?

Why aren't Jesus or the apostles promoting these manifestations if they really are true Revival?

Why instead do we see these things all the way through the New Age and Hinduism, etc?

Do we not realize that many false religions have their own version of "laying on of hands" that results in these very types of manifestations?

This 'spirit' is not in the Bible - but it is all the way through Kundalini-type Hinduism! Don't you think this should alarm us?

WHAT IS KUNDALINI?

If you search for Kundalini and Shakti on the Internet, you will find that multitudes of people in the New Age and Eastern religions still experience these powerful manifestations.

Often this is with the help of a Guru, who touches them on the forehead so that they can experience a "Kundalini Awakening".

This touch is made by the Guru in what is known as the Shakti Pat or divine touch. The raising of the spiritual experience is called raising Kundalini.

After a period when the devotee has reached a certain spiritual elevation they begin to shake, jerk, or hop or squirm uncontrollably, sometimes breaking into uncontrolled animal noises or laughter as they reach an ecstatic high. These manifestations are called 'Kriyas'.

Devotees sometimes roar like lions and show all kinds of physical signs during this period. Often devotees move on to higher states of spiritual consciousness and become inert physically and appear to slip into an unconsciousness...."

And as the guru Shri Yogãnandji Mahãrãja wrote:

"When Your body begins trembling, hair stands on roots, you laugh or begin to weep without your wishing, your tongue begins to utter deformed sounds, you are filled with fear or see frightening visions…the Kundalini Shakti has become active."

When you see videos of these "kriyas" or other Kundalini-type manifestations, you will believe that you are watching a modern "Impartation"-type church meeting. (And I say this as someone who believes strongly in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. I just don't believe in "alien" anointings infiltrating the Body of Christ! There is a big difference between Kundalini and the real Holy Spirit).

Since 1993-1994, I believe a foreign spirit has been allowed to invade the church - first through Rodney Howard-Browne's ministry - then Toronto, then the Prophetic movement (which I was part of at the time) and on into Lakeland and many other ministries and movements.

I urge people now to "test the spirits" just as we are commanded to in Scripture. Do not let just anyone lay hands on you. This is a powerful spirit and it has the backing of a lot of big-name ministries. In fact, these men and women are the very ones responsible for allowing it to spread right through the body of Christ. And one day they will be answerable to God for doing so.

We are specifically warned in the Bible that the Last Days will be a time of "seducing spirits," false prophets, 'lying signs and wonders,' and that we always need to watch for "angels of light" masquerading as the real thing. Why does the modern church not take these warnings seriously? Aren't we living in the very days that the Bible warns about?

Below is a testimony we just received from Simone Garland-Johnson in the US who trained with The Elijah Challenge over the internet. The Lord had healed her from severe depression and bi-polar disorder from which she had suffered for five years.

"I just wanted to write a testimony about the recent healing my Mother received after taking the Elijah Challenge Training. Last Sunday my Mom was having really bad pain in her feet. She was diagnosed with Planters Percitous (spelling?) which caused really bad pain in her feet. She had to put special shoes at the side of her bed because when her feet touched the floor they would hurt really bad--the shoes relieved some of this pain. The problem with her feet had been going on for months and I was tired of seeing her in so much pain-- so I decided to do something about it.

Using what I learned from your teaching I began to command that the pain leave her feet and that her feet be restored, healed, and made new. The pain did not leave right away but though mountain-moving faith, I persisted that the pain leave and her feet to be restore and they were. She experienced a 100% healing. The same feet my Mother could not walk on without very bad pain she began to jump and run on. My brother who is not saved saw this miraculous healing and was amazed.

My mother is a believer but much sickness has come on her body (lupus, fibromyalgia, and a problem with her knee). Before my Mother was not opened to getting healed--her hope had went down for believing for her healing because she had been prayed for many times before and had not received healing. Further, other Christians told her that the reason she was not healed is because of her [lack of] faith--so she had become very discouraged and thought that Jesus must not want to heal her."

During the training 52 people were healed and during the crusade that followed another 45 people were healed giving us a total 97 people healed in one day. (In this crusade we had 34 more people healed than in any previous crusade). I preached a Way of the Master sermon about sin, judgment and righteousness through Christ. I finished the lesson by asking them “how do they know that what I told them about Christ Jesus was true?” I told them I could prove that it was true that very night. I used the story of the “Paralytic” man lowered through the roof in front of Jesus. From this story, I explained that Jesus can forgive sin and the proof was that he healed the crippled. This indicated that sins being forgiven and being healed both have the same sources of power and authority, the sources is Jesus.

I then told them if Jesus heals tonight that they should put their faith and trust in him and turn from sin in repentance. I explained that if Jesus heals people tonight they have no option but to believe in him and to follow him. I also told them that if Jesus did not heal people at the crusade they should not believe in him or follow him. I told them that if Jesus heals people they must follow him. I repeated over and over that “the God who heals is the God who is real!” If Jesus heals, that proves he is real and that he can forgive their sins and raise them from the dead and give them eternal life in him. If he does not heal then they should continue on in their sins and never think about God again. I asked the whole crowd is this a fair deal? They all agreed! Like the nation of Israel did with Elijah and the prophets of Baal.

Then we called for those who needed to be healed to come forward for healing. We took authority in Jesus name and people were being healed all over the place; vaginal bleeding, tumors, cist, back pain, blindness, poor vision, headaches, fevers, body pain and weakness, breast tumors, crippling knee pain, strokes, blurry vision and even children who had been injured while playing were healed. We had only three people who were not completely healed and even these three all stated they were 50% better.

I then reminded the group of our deal and my boast about Jesus that “The God who heals is the God who is real.” I had those who wanted to follow Jesus now raise their hands. Over a hundred hands went up. I had them put their hands down and I explained that following Jesus meant pain, trial, tribulation and persecution and that what was done to Jesus would be done to those who followed him. I then asked how many want to follow Jesus still? The same hands went up. I had them put their hands down and I explained how Jesus had been humiliated and suffered hanging on the cross for them and he requires us to die to ourselves and take up our cross and follow him. I asked again, who here wants to stand for the Christ who died for them. Everyone stood-up again. I told them if you’re serious and you intend to follow Christ all the rest of your life, turn from your sins and previous way of life, and you are willing to die for Christ if necessary, then come forward.

Over 120 people came forward and raised their hand again as they publicly confessed their acceptance of Jesus,.. some wept and many were full of joy. Even the three who were only partially healed came forward to foamce llow Jesus. I explained how they need to be disciples and read their Bibles, pray, worship Jesus daily, and fellowship together with God’s people.

We tried to release the crowd three times but they would not disperse they just wanted to stay and bask in the beauty of the power of Jesus name, his presence and the experience the joy of being God’s people. It was another amazing night! We serve an awesome God. The local pastors who were present began to network with the throng of new believers. We were exhausted but it was a good exhaustion. The feeling of being used powerfully to advance the Kingdom of God! This was the largest number of miracles (97 people healed) and the largest number of people who have confessed faith in Christ at one of our crusades (more than 120 people-we could not count them all-both both of the people counting lost track at over 120 people).

Praise God and thank you to all those who prayed and gave to make this crusade happen. Deliverance starts tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow. Pastor William Lau leaves for three weeks of training the Lord's disciples in various venues in Brazil. Once again, he will be ministering with the Visitation of God ministry which has been so fruitful. A year ago in July when William was with Visitation of God in Brazil, 1,920 people were healed and 1,440 accepted Jesus in a week as 620 Brazilian disciples trained by Pastor William went door-to-door healing the sick and preaching the gospel in the second most idolatrous area in Brazil. Miraculous healings on a Carnival cruise ship

Last month we received an unusual report from John Slionski who heads a street ministry on Long Island, New York. In April 2009 John and his people were trained in The Elijah Challenge by Joseph White who had attended the Advanced Training earlier that year.

This is what John witnessed on a Carnival cruise ship last month:

"William, I just got back from a mission trip to Jamaica on a major Carnival cruise ship with the "celebrity Christians." They let us minister twice and we had TREMENDOUS SIGNS and wonders and miracles.

A woman's tumor watered out before our eyes. We saw legs healed, water left a swollen foot caused by high blood pressure. A blind woman's eyesight restored plus MANY MANY MORE INCLUDING A MAN DELIVERED FROM WITCHCRAFT SPIRITS!

Homeless Man Healed of Irreversible Gangrene and Spared From Amputation

This is a testimony sent to Pastor William Lau by a believer who has been trained in The Elijah Challenge Seminar in Florida.

As we were serving food today, a homeless man came to me and said "Thank you!"

"Huh?"

"Thank you so much!"

"For what?"

"For what you did a couple weeks ago!"

"Huh?"

"My foot!"

"WHAT?"

Ok... so let's refer to an email I wrote to you on Wednesday, June 8th: "Last Monday (June 6, 2011) I was asked to pray over a man's heel which he believed had gangrene. I placed my thumb over the wound and commanded the gangrene to leave in the name of Jesus. It's been a while since I exercised the training I received in the Elijah Challenge. I pray I'll see him tonight to see how his heel is."

I actually didn't see him that night or any other nights until tonight (June 27, 2011).

The homeless man came and told me what happened. It was gangrene and the doctor was preparing to remove his foot. The following day after I placed my thumb on his wound and commanded the gangrene to leave, he visited his doctor again. After examining his foot, the doctor was completely shocked!

The doctor said "What did you do?"

The gangrene had stopped spreading completely and it DID NOT made it to the bones. The doctor said this was impossible with the infected condition of that foot. He scraped off the outside layer, cleaned, medicated, packed it with gauze and let it heal.

Today, the homeless man is working diligently in the ministry with his church without problem with his foot! He has apparently been praising God and telling of this miracle to everybody he met. He couldn't stop testifying and praising Jesus for this miracle!

Paralysed Woman Got Up To Walk

Grace and I were called to heal a woman who was paralyzed waist down. For four months, her husband carried her from the bed to a chair before he went to work. During the day, the woman's mother took care of her. When the husband returned in the evening, he carried her back to the bed.

The interesting thing was that the husband was a Chinese medical doctor who tried to heal his wife with acupuncture. However, after many sessions of treatment, nothing happened. Apparently all her nerves in the lower part of her body were not connected to the brain.

When we arrived, we found her sitting on the chair. After explaining about the love and miracles of Jesus, we commanded her to rise up in the name of Jesus. My wife and a few sisters from our church were standing by her left and right sides so as to catch her if she were to fall. She was a heavy-set woman and that explained why her husband was the only one strong enough to carry her.

On the first command, I pulled her up and she stood for two seconds and then screamed that she could not stand any longer. She collapsed back to her chair and was shaking with fear.

The second command in the name of Jesus got this lady to stand a little longer. To cut the story short, on the fifth command, she got up and walked around the living room by herself. Absolutely, without anyone holding on to her - she had recovered completely.

What happened? The truth is that when I commanded and all my assistants followed every word in command, the faith was not dependent upon the woman's own. The faith had to be ours! This meant that during the healing ministry, my assistants and I had to believe completely that the power of Jesus was there to heal. We had to have no doubt that the woman could be healed. Thank God, she was healed and walked in the name of Jesus.

Did we have any failures? Yes, there were some who were not completely healed in spite of our faith and belief. We do not understand why but we just continue to utilize our authority and power to command the diseases and pain to leave in the name of Jesus.

One man who had a frozen shoulder was healed only after three days of intensive commanding. His wife who had the same condition was healed on the very first command on the first day. An elderly lady was healed of deafness immediately on the first day but an elderly deaf man was healed only on the third day. A lady pastor had 9 arthritic fingers healed on the first day and the final finger was healed only the next day.

We never fully understand why such discrepancies in time of healing but we know only of one thing, we have to keep commanding by faith.

Hope this little write-up will help you in exercising your faith to heal others in the name of Jesus.

In the evening we held Session II of the Basic Training. The Lord's grace was very evident again. At the end of the session an older man, the husband of a lady pastor from Taipei, hobbled forward to be healed. He suffered from pain in his upper thigh/hip area which was especially bad when climbing stairs. Two brothers came forward to minister to him. Gerhard is a German expatriate who has lived in Taiwan for twenty years. Eric is a graduate of Oral Roberts University as well as Rhema Bible School in Oklahoma. They laid hands on the gentleman and authoritatively commanded his leg to be healed in Jesus' name. Then I asked him to walk. He took some steps and a slightly amazed grin appeared on his face. The limp was gone. He walked back and forth easily and normally. I asked him to climb the steps to the platform and he glided up effortlessly. The Lord had graciously confirmed His word before His disciples.

Then five more people experiencing pain in their bodies came forward to be healed. Disciples came forward from their seats to lay hands on them. Afterwards, each of the five testified that the Lord had healed them. One woman had been unable to raise her arm. But as she testified she was lifting it up and down effortlessly.

Then I encouraged the disciples to use what the Lord had given them to preach the gospel in Ligang. There are 112 idol temples, but only four churches in Ligang. This is a reflection on the lack of power in the Church's evangelism. Now that they have been trained to use the very powerful weapons given to them by the Lord, they must use them to fulfill the Great Commission. There will be a mass movement of Buddhists to Jesus Christ here only when the Church obeys the Lord's commands to "heal the sick and tell them, 'the kingdom of God is near you.'"

There is darkness here which can only be dispelled by the gospel and the authority the Lord has given to His people. Last night our host pastor was very late in picking us up to take us to the meeting in his church because his mother, who is now staying with him, had been attacked by severe depression. He had his hands full.

Later that evening after the meeting while we were preparing for bed in the retreat center, we were called to minister to a young lady who was on the Mission Harmony team. She was staying in a big dormitory room just across the courtyard from us. She was seeing spirits and was suffering from severe pain in the back of her head. We got dressed and went to the dormitory room where she and about a dozen other young women were staying. We laid hands on her and rebuked the spirits and the pain in Jesus' name. She was healed and set free.

Australian 'miracle man' says that prayer healed him from a broken neck and partial quadriplegia

BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA (ANS) -- Australian doctors were baffled when Andrew Carter, then 23, walked from the hospital where he was being treated following a terrible motor cycle accident back in March, 1996, which had left him totally paralyzed.
Carter, who made a dramatic appearance at the 8th Annual Christian Medical Conference held in Brisbane, Australia, that took place on June 11-12, 2011, was told by doctors at the Spinal Unit of the nearby Princess Alexandra Hospital, that he would never walk again.
His story was featured in a local newspaper at the time and he told reporter Deidre Stark, "I can explain it. It's a miracle.
"Medically, I was in a hopeless position, and I'd already been told to prepare to live the rest of my life in a wheelchair, so I turned to prayer."
Mr. Carter, a mechanic, credits his "strong faith" and the prayers of his church, the Ipswich Assembly of God, and many others Christians across Australia, with his speedy recovery. (Dan Wooding photo: Andrew Carter on Stage with Dr. Mieke Kuiper)
He suffered his terrible injuries in a motorcycle accident when he was thrown from his motorbike and lay there close to death.
"When I came to I was wrapped right around the tree and I couldn't move anything," he told the newspaper.
He was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital and operated on immediately.
"As soon as I woke up, the doctor told me I was going to be a quadriplegic and would never walked again," he went on. "It shattered me - I told my mother I didn't want to live anymore.
"It was if my whole life was over and I needed to do something, so I began to pray." And that is when the miracle began to tak place.
Two weeks later, Mr. Carter took his first steps and five weeks after that he walked out of the hospital.
His case was presented to the 220 Christian doctors and medical professionals on the first day of the conference by Dr. Mieke Kuiper, a Brisbane-based Family Physician, who was also one of the main organizers of the event.
The Dutch-born doctor explained that on March 2, 1996, at 8:00 AM, Andrew lost control of his motorcycle when he came over a crest on a dirt track and hit a log that lay across the track.
"He flew sideways, hitting a tree," she said. "Slumped on the ground at the base of the tree, he was initially thought to be dead by his mate who was following him.
"His friend called the ambulance who promptly came and attended him, and then he was winched from the scene of the accident in a stretcher by helicopter and taken to the hospital."
As Dr. Kuiper told the story, she flashed onto a large screen x-rays that showed that has suffered a "broken neck and incomplete quadriplegia."
Soon afterwards, the surgery began.
She went on to say, "Afterwards, Andrew was very depressed and wanted to die for the first three days after the accident, but then turned to God and decided to fight. Much prayer went out on his behalf by members of many Australian churches."
The doctor then said, "God heard those prayers and he was able to walk unassisted out of the hospital 7 ½ weeks after the accident. At the time of his discharge, all sensation had returned to normal but he still had not regained full balance and strength and was not able to run.
"Over the next 12 months, he worked hard with the therapies and rained his full former strength, fitness and balance. His recovery was widely regarded as a miracle and his case was widely covered through the media here."
It was then that Dr. Kuiper surprised the audience, that had traveled from 30 countries, when she announced that Andrew was in the hall and invited him to join her on stage.
With that, he got up from his seat and literally bounced up the steps and thanked the Lord for his own personal miracle.
Not only had the medics viewed his medical data, and also read the written reports from the hospital at the time, but now they had the living proof right in front of them as Andrew smiled widely and the audience responded by standing up and gave him [and God] a standing ovation.
These "Spirituality and Medicine" conferences are organized by the World Christian Doctors Network (WCDN) based in Seoul, Korea. At the end of the event, it was announced that next year's gathering will take place in Nairobi, Kenya, near the end of May.

Just a quick update for you and the Omegaman listeners. I listened to the Program when William Lau was on teaching on healing and deliverance. As you know, his focus was on healing in the kingly authority that every christian has if we have faith of God. Anyway, so I applied this in faith and commanded the pain on my Dad's back that he has had for the last 16 months and it left.

I also layed hands on my uncle that had major surgery on his bowels for a cancer he had. After the surgery he still had cancer in his system. However, I layed hands on him and commanded the cancer to leave in the Name of Jesus Christ about four days before his next test. I came home and discovered him at my house with the good news that the test came back without any trace of cancer in his system. He told the doctors and his family that God healed him.

In an interview during the 8th Annual Christian Medical Conference held in Brisbane, Australia, he said that he has given up his medical practice to dedicate his life to investigating miracles that cannot be explained medically.

I then asked him what he would say to doctors who do not believe in divine healing and do not believe that God can heal.

"I want to say, please come to one of our WCDN conferences and you can see for yourself, the evidence of divine healing backed up with clear medical data and then you can ask any questions about your doubts or curiosity, and you will become convicted that God is working now just as He worked in the past in the Bible period."

Dear Brethren in Christ,

This morning at our host church we preached a message of repentance to prepare the people of God for the great and terrible Day of the Lord. I shared that seeking after God's blessings in this life is not the central message of the New Testament. But rather, Jesus taught:
John 12:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it abides alone; but if it dies, it brings forth much fruit. 25 He who loves his life shall lose it. And he who hates his life in this world shall keep it to life eternal. We shared our testimony of how years ago we had followed the Lord's footsteps by giving up our hopes and dreams and possessions in America and by faith moving to the primitive unreached regions of Indonesia to share the gospel to those who had never heard. We challenged the believers to repent and to produce fruit in keeping with repentance by dying to the world and hating their lives in this world. Only then, like grains of wheat falling to the ground and dying, can they bring forth much fruit for God.

It was quiet in the spacious church while I shared. It was likely not the kind of message they were accustomed to hearing. The people were listening.

After the message we asked the Lord to confirm the message of repentance through miraculous healings. People with infirmities came forward to receive ministry from the trained disciples. Afterwards, most of them came up to the stage to testify of what the Lord had done for them. Two testimonies were quite striking. One man had suffered from a stroke and had difficulty speaking, along with other problems due to the stroke. He took the microphone, and fighting back tears he paused to compose himself. Then he began to speak with little trace of difficulty. Not only was his speech almost completely restored, the other symptoms of his stroke were receding as well. A second man in his late thirties or early forties had suffered from shaking hands since he was a child. His hands were no longer shaking as he testified. A woman was healed of the symptoms of a heart condition, but was too shy to testify publicly.

Through the miraculous healings the Lord had clearly confirmed to this prosperity gospel church the message that He had delivered to the Laodician Church:
Rev 3:15 I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I would that you were cold or hot. 16 So because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. 17 Because you say, I am rich and increased with goods and have need of nothing, and do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked, ...19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten; therefore be zealous and repent. At the end of the meeting the people applauded, not loudly, but I sensed sincerely and appreciatively. I think they had received the message into their hearts.

Testimony from Doha, Qatar

A disciple who attended the Training we held late last month in Qatar wrote us:

I am Adebola Olu, a disciple of the Lord at Redeemed Christian Church of God in Doha. The healing training was powerful and it changed my life since then. My eyes would pain me as though salt/pepper was in my eyes any time I woke up in the morning and during the day sometimes. When it gets bad i will have to rush for water but it will only help for a while. During the healing service I was healed till now i have not experienced it again.

i have now gained so much confidence in Christ. I just heard that someone I know had an accident, I'll go and lay my hands on him in Jesus' name. May God bless and enrich you more in Jesus name. Amen.

Back Surgery Canceled For Sister Healed At The Breakfast Of Champions And More...

You may recall that the Saturday just before we left on our current mission trip, we ministered at the Breakfast of Champions in Houston. There was in attendance a sister named Linda Buitron who had been scheduled for surgery on her painfully bulging disk. After some brief training, we had people lay hands on her and other people with infirmities.

We just received the following email from her. Please read not only what happened to Linda at the Breakfast, but also what happened to her aunt the following Sunday at church. Praise the Lord for His wonderful grace!

Blessings in THE NAME OF JESUS,

I have cancelled my surgery, which was to be for June 10, 2011, My back is ssoooooo much better, in fact, the Lord had told me that he would be healing me gradually. My leg pain has almost totally diminished, and I am able to get back to the things I was doing before, exercising, walking and I am looking forward into getting back into my salsa dancing lessons, which I had to stop because of my back and left leg. I know that the Lord has given me a creative miracle, that he made that bulging disc, go back to normal, THANK YOU JESUS!!! TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!!! I AM HEALED IN JESUS NAME!!!!!

One other incident that has happened in our family, THIS IS TOTALLY AWESOME, My Aunt, who is a new Christian, was diagnosed w/ a heart problem, she was told that the CT and MRI scans showed that she had two arteries blocked and she was to have surgery on June 8, 2011. She came to our church this past Sunday and the pastors and well as myself and my sister and mother, (who attended your healing service) prayed over her. She said later that she had felt a warmth that she could not describe all over her body. ANYWAY, SHE WENT INTO SURGERY AND WHEN THE DOCTOR OPENED HER UP, HE COULDN’T FIND ANYTHING!!!

NO BLOCKAGES!!! OR ANYTHING, HE WAS TOTALLY PUZZLED. She was closed up and sent to a room, last night she ate before she left the hospital and all she can say is THE LORD HEALED ME!!! Your soooo true that The Lord is going to have people to see the miracles and they WILL BELIEVE!!! Also, another aunt and uncle were there at the hospital, when this all happened. They are catholic, and not really believe that the Lord still heals.. BOY DID THEY GET A SURPRISE!!!!!

Dear Brethren in Christ,

Last Thursday morning we landed in West Borneo, the area in Indonesia where we first began to serve the Lord 33 years ago. Putussibau, where we are now, is a town nestled deep in the interior of West Borneo near the border with East Malaysia.

Way back in 1980 we had settled in another region of West Borneo called Batu Ampar---an area at that time unreached by the gospel. One of the first families to accept the gospel of Jesus Christ was a man and his wife who owned a few small stores. They had six young children, three boys and three girls. The six have now grown up with children of their own, and two of them serve the kingdom of God very actively. One girl, A Lan, now pastors a church alongside her husband. One boy, A Hwat, is now a successful businessman who enjoys an unusually close relationship the Lord. When we first saw him in 1980, A Hwat was an illiterate barefoot urchin who spent his time playing and running around the village with his little brother in tow. They came to Lucille's classes where every day she taught the village kids---many of whom could not read---the Word of God, and also how to read the Indonesian language.

A Hwat now lives in Putussibau and is our host here. The Lord has given him unusual grace and favor with the people. We thank the Lord that the seed we planted thirty years ago in a remote village is now bearing much good fruit for the kingdom of God in Indonesia. There are other similar testimonies as well from people who received the kingdom of God as children during those early days.

Yesterday we began the Basic Training in A Lan's church with various area servants of God in attendance. The Lord's grace was evident during the teaching, with people testifying of being healed during the time of demonstration during the session. We took turns teaching directly in the Indonesian language. At the evangelistic healing service in the evening, the gospel was preached from Mark 2. The Lord confirmed his Word by healing many people with infirmities as the trained servants of God ministered to them. It was wonderfully encouraging to us all.

Today we will complete the Basic Training. Tomorrow morning on Sunday we will split up and preach in different churches. On Monday we will head for Batu Ampar---where it all began over three decades ago. All of our beautiful daughters---Esther, Sarah, and Christina---were born there.

The Lord was so gracious to us during the seven years we labored to introduce the gospel of Jesus Christ in that remote and unreached area. Please pray that the Lord will continue to keep us safe and in good health as we minister and travel here. May His wonderful grace continue to be revealed as we train God's people to minister in the spirit and power of Elijah.

Please pray for Pastor William's older sister Mayin. She has been diagnosed with Stage III cancer in some polyps recently removed from her colon. Please pray for her spirit & soul as well as for the healing of her body.

Healing Miracles in Uganda

Here is an incredibly powerful report by Brother Dale Garris who was ministering in Uganda, Africa for 7 weeks:

We have received a very powerful testimony from Brother Dale Garris of Dallas, Texas who attended Basic Training II with us in February 2009. When he came to us, he already had the gift of healing, but did not understand the contrasting and complementary authority to heal. Dale often goes to Africa on mission trips, and he just returned from Uganda. Do take a moment to read about the amazing things God did....

Just got back from another trip to Uganda.

Your influence at the Elijah Challenge was instrumental in the healings that took place here. If you remember, when I first met you, I was struggling with figuring out how this gift of healing worked. I learned a lot from you on the difference between the command for us to go forth and heal the sick and the gift [of healing] that was designed for the Body of Christ. I still struggle with taking on the authority to command the healing, but I’m getting a whole lot better.

I was in Uganda for 7 weeks this time, starting in the north for 3 weeks and then down to the south and to the west. Both of my hosts set me up for 3 days in each place, two and three services each day. It was pretty intense.

During the 3-day sessions, we would have at least one healing line. In each place, almost every time everyone who stood in the healing line would get healed. We’re talking everything from aches and pains to the crippled, blind, deaf, barren, and broken. I know because we asked each and everyone before and after I prayed for them. What is even more exciting is that the Spirit of God was so "heavy and thick" during these services that some people would get healed just by being there in the service. There were several examples of this. One old guy came up to me jabbering at a mile-a-minute waving his hand in front of me opening and closing his fingers. I didn’t know what this guy was going to do. It was just a little weird to say the least. What he was trying to do was show me how he was healed! He came paralyzed on his whole right side, and now he was jumping up and down waving his hand at me to show me what God had done!

Another old (I mean OLD) woman came up to me in between services and squeezed me with a bear hug, again talking up a blue streak, and pressing 1,000 shilling note into my hand. Come to find out, she was horribly sick with a debilitating blood disease, and the Lord told her that if she would come to the service, she would be healed. When she walked in under the canopy we had set up, she entered into the "cloud" of the Holy Spirit, and bang! God healed her.

Some people would get healed just standing in line and come to tell me that they didn’t need me to pray over them because God healed them just standing there. Some people I had to pray twice over. You taught me that. A woman who was blind came up and after praying, she was “better”. “Better” is not good enough – I got that from you. We prayed again and God healed her. What is funny is that I was so excited that I was worried that it hadn’t really happened and asked her if it she was really healed or just saying that. Man, she looked at me like I was some stupid child. 'Of course she was healed! Why do you think she came up to stand in line? This was a healing line, wasn’t it? What happens at a healing line? People get healed! Why else would she stand there?’ Pure, simple faith!

It was like that every time. Probably a couple hundred people got healed, but what is more exciting than that is that several hundred got saved. And what is even more exciting than that is that scores of churches were ignited and the fire of God has started to burn in them to spread the message of revival, of deliverance, and of the glory of God. Revival is about to break out in a very big way, just as the prophet Joel has told us. I am so glad to be a part of this.

Anyway, I thought you’d like to hear about this. You most certainly have a part in all this because you instilled a confidence and a direction in me to channel the gift of healing that I have seen flow here in Africa. I pray for more and more of an increase and to see it break out here in America. I believe that America is not in that broken place yet to receive the incredible power of revival, but that hopefully the testimonies that are coming forth from your group will show them that it is real, God has not left us, and that His mercy is from everlasting. We will have to find that place of repentance before God as a nation, just as it was in Nehemiah 1 and in Daniel 9, but that is always the way. No revival comes without repentance."

Dear Brethren in Christ,

Last night the Lord graciously enabled me to complete the meetings here. It appears to have been a very fruitful event.

Qatar is a little peninsular country on the Persian Gulf in between Saudi Arabia and Iran, as you can see in the map of the Middle East below. Qatar is the finger of land inside the black circle.

The background

Of the approximately 1.5 million residents, only about 400,000 are local. The rest are a mixture of expatriate Indians (800,000 strong), Filipinos, Nepalese, Nigerians, and various other nationalities including Americans. The USA has an airbase here. As I mentioned in an earlier email, the government here makes it extremely difficult to share the gospel with the local Arabs. One cannot share Jesus Christ in the conventional way here as done in the west. You have to be on the ground here to understand the scope of the difficulty. One needs great wisdom from the Lord to be able to reach them effectively. Even in the meetings I was not free to share an effective approach for reaching them, because the government can send informers to spy on what is being taught in churches.

Within a particular expat community here consisting of nearly 5,000 people, the Lord has raised up a vibrant church which we will not name. The members are mostly expat believers. There are thousands of these churches around the world; in the USA alone there are 551.

The host church

A Church here in Doha is led by a faithful brother who works as an engineer. I found the leaders to be filled with the Spirit and committed to the Lord and the gospel. The response to the Basic Training was unusually enthusiastic. From feedback I received it was eye-opening, ministry-transforming and even a "revelation" to them. The Lord was gracious to confirm the teaching by performing various miraculous healings during the meetings as the believers laid hands on one another.

In particular were testimonies of people healed last night during the climactic evangelistic healing service. Instead of preaching "God's love and blessings" in the usual manner, I preached repentance as did John the Baptist when he appeared two thousand years ago in the spirit and power of Elijah to prepare God's people for Coming of the Lord. In order to confirm the message of repentance needed to prepare God's people for the great and terrible Day of the Lord, we asked the Lord to perform miraculous healings on the infirm.

Two testimonies of healing

Now within the expatriate community consisting of mostly healthy workers, there are probably few cases of severe illness. But some did come forward for healing last night and were touched powerfully by the Lord. One man had been suffering from severe back pain for 18 long years. He had tried everything to no avail. But as the brothers laid hands on him and rebuked the infirmity, God's healing power came upon him. Through tears of joy and amazement he shared dramatically that after 18 years the pain was completely gone.

Among the others whom the Lord touched was a woman in her forties. After sisters ministered to her, she stood silently with her eyes brimming with tears. When after the others had testified I asked her to tell the people what the Lord had done for her, she was so overcome by emotion that she stood speechless for several moments as the crowd waited. Finally she blurted out the barely decipherable words, "I cannot say." The Lord had healed her of something extremely personal. She nodded when I asked her if she had felt the Lord's healing power in her body.

Through all the testimonies of healing the Lord had said to His people, "Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent." (Revelation 3:19)

An abominable practice

There is a special brother who is faithfully serving me with my transportation needs during my stay here. Last night in my hotel room this brother shared with me how impactful it was that the miraculous healings were used to confirm the message of repentance at the final service. In the past he has seen how miraculous healings have been used by unscrupulous ministers to dig into people's wallets and purses. If an infirm person gave an offering of $500, they would receive a certain level of ministry from the minister. But if they gave $1,000 they would get much more effective "treatment." The miraculous healings were not used to confirm the truth of the gospel, but to line the pockets of the minister. This gives us some understanding of Jesus' words:

Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. ²² Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Prayer request

The pastor of this congregation is now determined to make this kind of ministry a vital part of the life of the congregation. Please pray that the Lord will grant him the strength and wisdom to carry out this intention for the purpose of reaching out to the big expatriate community here with the gospel of Jesus Christ. May the Lord grant him the wisdom to lead his people to reach out to the unreachable nationalities using what was taught.

Late tonight I will fly back to Malaysia where Lucille has been staying. May the Lord grant me a safe and pleasant overnight journey.

Testimony Following Omega Man Radio Webcast

On 18 May 2011, Pastor William and Pastor Lucille Lau were in Houston and taught the Session II of the Basic Training on Omega Man Radio over the internet. Today he received a testimony of a miraculous healing the Lord performed through a disciple named Marc who had listened to the webcast. Please take a moment to read it below!

"On May 18th I listened to a broadcast you did with Omega Man Radio. I have been listening to your teachings and they have been very encouraging for myself and my family. It was 2 days after that broadcast my daughter became ill with flu-like symptoms almost like a bad cold. That morning she woke up itching her entire body severely to the point were it was bothering me to see. There were large bumps all over her legs, arms, back, and even her face. The doctor said the day before that it was a reaction her body was doing by fighting of the bad cold or flew she may have had. To continue, that morning she was digging and crying because the itching and swelling would not leave.

So I had decided that I was going to use your teachings and have the Lord heal her with the authority you taught. I had just came off a 24 hour fast and new this was the time to step out in faith. By fasting and praying the day before I felt that the Lord had prepared me for this. So I went up to Sierra my daughter and said to her Jesus can heal you. I then laid my hands on her legs and began to command the skin disease or virus to leave in the name of Jesus with authority. After I had her stand and walk around and asked how do you feel.

She said the itching was not bad anymore, but the bumps were still present. I then said we will pray again and command this to leave and command complete healing of your skin. So I had laid hands on her again and prayed. After the second time the itching completely stopped and she was feeling good enough to start playing again. That was when I left it alone and waited. After about 1.5 hours. I asked Sierra to show me her legs. To my amazement her legs were completely healed and no dig marks or red marks, nothing, the bumps were completely gone! Her head, arms and back still had bumps, so before I went to work, I laid hands on her again, this time on her arms, and then on her head.

After I went to work and called home about 1.5 hours later and asked my wife how she was doing. To my surprise her whole entire body was healed not a mark or bump on her, PRAISE JESUS!!!! The work and teachings you are doing will show people the power of God and bring them to repentance. I believe that my daughter will never doubt the power in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. That moment will give her the ability to call on our Savior by showing her my faith and seeing the healing God had done for her. Thank you brother for what you are teaching it is life changing. May the Lord bless your ministry."

Dear Partners in the Great Commission,

We'd like to share with you a wonderful report from Jim Hathaway, a Canadian disciple who attended Basic Training II with us in February 2008.

Late last year (2010) in November Jim went on his third mission trip to the Philippines, where he taught The Elijah Challenge Basic Training to pastors in a Bible School and held evangelistic outreaches. His host was Pastor Tito Cagang, Sr. of Christ Ministries Samaritan of Sarangani Province.

With regard to that mission trip Jim wrote, “I challenged each pastor to hold a crusade/outreach within three months of my leaving the Philippines and then to think about and plant a church in an area where there are no churches within the next two years. Most of the pastors had traveled many days for the training. Seems they are more aggressive than what I had planned! [Read the report below.] I am hoping to continue to train more as the word is spread about The Elijah Challenge Training.”

Here is the report which Pastor Tito just sent to Jim:

“Greetings in Jesus name!! This is good news for you because our ministry here has grown successfully. There have been four churches added to the CHRIST MINISTRIES SAMARITAN OF SARANGANI PROVINCE, INC. (The first one is in Brgy. Lamblete, the second one is in Brgy. Basag T'boli, the third one is in Brgy. Lago, and the last one is in Brgy. Poblacion Glan in Sarangani Province.) These are the results of the teaching you gave to the pastors last year here in the Bible School. This is very wonderful. And you will see it personally when you come here next year.”

Praise the Lord for using the Basic Training to produce this kind of fruit for the kingdom of God. We are so thankful to the Lord to be entrusted with this kind of teaching to give away to the body of Christ---we are simply unworthy servants who are doing what He told us to do.

Dear prayer partners, please pray that the Lord will open more doors for us to train His disciples and Church around the world.

More Obedience and Not More Anointing

Apparently, in the West, not many Christians have been exposed to the supra-natural forces of other religions. They regularly confuse the Kundalini spirit with the Holy Spirit. In their desire for more 'anointings', they open themselves to all kinds of non-biblical and extra-biblical teachings.

Many believers become gullible and readily receive all these so-called special 'spiritual impartations' and 'anointings'.

The truth of the matter is that the Church is already anointed since Acts 2.

The Holy Spirit has been given and we live and move according to His leading and guidance. Yes, emotionally we may sense the presence of the Holy Spirit and that is a secondary experience. The Bible uses the term such as being "full of the Holy Spirit" to describe practical outworking of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers. This term is also used to mean the empowering influence and direct guidance of the Holy Spirit upon men.

Acts 1:3 But carefully select from among you, brothers, seven men who are well-attested, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may put in charge of this necessary task.

Acts 7:55 - But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.

Acts 11:24 - He (Barnabas) was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord.

The Holy Spirit is consistently there within us to lead and guide us. We do not need to go into a trance in order to conjure or invoke the presence of the Holy Spirit. As a Pentecostal preacher, I pray in tongues but I am aware of everything around me when I do that. I do not need to "get into the mood". The prayer and gift of tongues is within our control to exercise or stop. I do not need to shake, faint, scream or laugh to pray to or praise my Lord. The Holy Spirit is there quietly working out God's plan through all of us.

Oswald Sanders in his book, Spiritual Leadership, describes the outworking of the Holy Spirit in the following:

Behind the actions of the apostles, the executive activity of the Spirit is seen everywhere. As supreme Administrator of the church and chief Strategist of the missionary enterprise, He is everywhere prominent. It is abundantly evident in the record that the Holy Spirit is jealous of His prerogatives and will not delegate His poser or authority to secular or carnal hands. Even men whose duties would be largely in the temporal affairs of the church must be men mastered and controlled by Him. Their selection must not be influenced by considerations of worldly wisdom, financial acumen, or social acceptability; they should be chosen primarily because of their genuine spirituality. When a church or other Christian organization departs from that pattern, it amounts to a virtual ousting of the Spirit from His place of leadership. As a consequence He is grieved and quenched, with resulting spiritual dearth and death.

Thus 'full of the Holy Spirit' does not mean 'special anointing'. There is not a single passage in the Bible that talks about 'special anointing' for healing and other miracles. There are of course no lack of charlatans and false teachers who quickly take advantage of such naive believers.

Today, I can only say that since the Church is already anointed with the Holy Spirit, the believers should not be ASKING FOR MORE ANOINTING BUT MORE OBEDIENCE!

Irritable Bowel Syndrome Healed In The Name of Jesus!

Recently we received a testimony from a brother named Bob who had watched the Basic Training videos through our website. We'd like to share it with you.

"I’ve been listening to the training courses on your website, and have been seeing miracles happening. For instance my mom; last weekend during our Bible study we were discussing healing. The Lord had all of us in his way study this particular subject. For my own case, I was lead to you.

Well, long story short, to keep the email to the point, she wanted to go home because she was suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I told her to use our bathroom, and come back and let’s put this study to action. I had my wife lay hands on her stomach/intestine area, and I laid mine over hers and said "In the name of Jesus be healed." Then we continued afterwards giving commands about healing, using authority in the name of Jesus, and she said she felt a lot better. So we continued again, because we were encouraged, and commanded some more. When she went to leave, we told her if the pain comes back and moves from the stomach area, to move to deliverance (casting out demons in Jesus' name).

On her way home she said she was yawning and burping [Note: for some reasons such manifestations might occur when demons are driven out] after she commanded more healing and deliverance on her back, because pain crept in and moved to her lower back area. When she got home, she felt great and didn’t have another attack since. The key to all this is, she said she has been suffering from this for 20 years and so it was guaranteed to hit again in an hour. But nothing came back!

That was four days ago, praise the Lord!"

"Hey William, I have an amazing report for you! I was at a [certain] event... The glory of the Lord fell and opened up a door for our sister Rachel to play the keyboard and begin her worship. I was asked to lay hands on a man who was laying on the floor who had cerebral palsy. He was paralyzed from the waist down and had metal rods put in his legs from his hip to his foot. His one leg was 4 inches shorter than the other.

The spirit and power of Elijah came over me as Rachel was singing "Healing Rain." The glory of the Lord fell upon us and as I was commanding his legs to form again his legs grew back in my hands! I then put my hand under where his knee would be and started to command the legs to regain original form and his leg started to bend over my hand!!

Then we got him up and commanded him to walk and with the help of two people and by the power of the Holy Spirit, HE WALKED FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER!!!! I have attached some before and after pictures of the leg growing back as well as him walking and me commanding!! PRAISE TO OUR AWESOME KING WITHOUT WHOM I AM NOTHING!!!"

Salvation and Healing Miracles Available Today

Over 500 years ago, Martin Luther planted the seeds of a Reformation that swept through the Church, transforming it and profoundly affecting the course of Western Civilization. One of the seminal doctrines introduced by the Reformation was the priesthood of all believers. The job of studying and teaching the Scriptures, of representing a Holy God before sinful men, and approaching God through Christ was no longer the exclusive domain of the professional clergy, but of every believer.

1 Peter 2:5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

The modern evangelical church has taken no priestly function more seriously than the injunction for every believer to preach the gospel---known to us as the Great Commission. I believe the Holy Spirit is now in the process of completing what He began through Luther over 500 years ago. Not only is every believer to preach the gospel, every believer is to do the works that Christ did, including miraculous works as confirmation of the gospel. I am not referring to the manifestation of the gift of healing here, which is clearly not given to every believer. I am referring to the fact of physical healing in the atonement.

Matthew 8:16 When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. 17 This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: "He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases."

Isaiah 53:4 Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.

These Scriptures clearly show that the atonement which Christ accomplished for us when he died on the cross purchased for us physical healing and deliverance, as well as the greatest benefit of peace with God. When a believer preaches the atonement, both physical healing and forgiveness of sins is available. It is one package. God is perfecting the priesthood of believers, He is restoring His saints into the image of His Son Jesus Christ---not only in terms of his holy character, but also his power and authority for the preaching of the gospel.

IS HEALING PROVIDED IN THE ATONEMENT?

Most Christians would readily agree that in some way or another, physical healing is included as part of Jesus’ atonement. If it is not received in this life, definitely it will be in the next one. But the real question that causes division is, “Does the atonement of Jesus guarantee physical healing in this life?” When put this way, even the most diehard Pentecostal would admit to the contrary.

It must be noted that it is not necessarily a Pentecostal belief that physical healing is provided in the atonement. Renowned Pentecostal Bible scholar Gordon Fee does not hold to this view yet is very convinced that the gifts of the Spirit are still for the church today*. There is the possibility of remaining Pentecostal without believing in faith healing. God may and can still heal through the gifts of healing or through prayer, but he did not provide healing through the atonement. Thus physical healing is possible, but not guaranteed in this life.

There are basically 2 verses of scripture that are used to propagate the belief that healing is provided in the atonement – Isa. 53:4 & 5.

4. Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows: Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.

5. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by his stripes we are healed.

It is true that parts of Isa. 53 refer to the atonement. However verse 4 was quoted in Matt. 8:17 where it was applied to Jesus’ earthly ministry. That scripture was fulfilled when Jesus was on earth healing the sick, not when he was on the cross dying. Verse 5 definitely refers to the atonement. But does it refer to physical healing or otherwise? In 1 Peter 2:24 it was quoted in the context of spiritual healing. Peter was discussing the subject of retaliation. Jesus was reviled yet did not retaliate, and he is our example to follow. He then quoted Isa. 53:5 to support his position. He certainly was not referring to physical healing, but rather deliverance from the tendency to retaliate. Thus in Isa. 53:5, spiritual healing (healing from our sinful propensities) is most likely what is being referred to.

It is also claimed that the word salvation (Gr. soso) carries the idea of total deliverance from sin and sickness. Perhaps the Greek word could mean all these things, however to claim that every single meaning of the word is intended whenever the word is used is contrary to common practice. This is called word loading – applying every possible meaning of a word every time it is used. The context is supposed to determine the meaning. The statement “I have my groceries in my trunk” does not mean that I have my groceries in my elephant, in my tree, or in my small suitcase. Clearly a car trunk is the correct meaning as is clear from the context. Similarly when the Bible speaks of our salvation, it most often speaks of our deliverance from sin and the curse of the law, not from all sickness and disease and poverty.

Although I do not believe physical healing is provided in the atonement in the same way salvation is provided, all who are saved will achieve perfect health in the next life. Healing is available through the gifts of the Spirit and the prayers of righteous men and women, but not guaranteed. Salvation is guaranteed for all who (genuinely) believe and thus it works every time without fail. People who believe are not always healed. Some are, some are not. 1 Cor. 15:42, 43 tell us that our natural body was sown in corruption and dishonor, but will be raised up incorruptible and in power. Right now it is subject to weakness and sickness, but after the resurrection, it will experience perfect health. But this is not guaranteed until then.

In the event that believers get sick, it is perfectly in order to pray for healing and to call for the elders. However faith does not imply that one should dispense with medical help. If the Bible says that a merry heart does good like medicine (Proverbs 17:22), doesn't it imply that medicine is good? I believe that the majority of sicknesses today are caused by natural means - poor diet or unhealthy lifestyle choices. Christians would be well advised to take care of themselves physically. This would involve getting sufficient rest, eating well rounded diets, and physical exercise. Prevention is always better than cure.

1. ARE YOU SATISFIED WITH YOUR EFFORTS TO EVANGELISE OTHERS?

So often our sharing of the gospel seems relatively fruitless in terms of results and we sometimes get dejected at how few conversions we see. One fundamental question we need to ask ourselves is: "am I doing evangelism amongst the lost according to what Jesus taught". If in fact we are deviating from the method that Jesus taught, and from the resources he purposed, is it any wonder we see little fruit from our efforts?

Jesus ministry was evangelism. In Luke 19 verse 10 Jesus tells Zacchaeus: "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost". 1 Timothy 1 verse 15 reminds us:"Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners".

Jesus did not rely on words alone to convince people as to who he was. Many times he said that if they did not believe His words then they should believe because of His miracles, for example:

John 10:25: "Jesus answered, "I did tell you, but you do not believe. The miracles I do in my Father's name speak for me""

John 10:37-38: "Do not believe me unless I do what my Father does. But if I do it, even though you do not believe me, believe the miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father."

John 14:11: "Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves."
2. HOW DID JESUS TEACH HIS DISCIPLES TO REACH THE LOST?

Let's look at what he told the 12 and the 72, all of whom he sent out in twos.

3. THE TWELVE

In Luke Chapter 9 verse 1 we read: "When Jesus had the 12 together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick." We know from Matthew Chapter 4 verse 17 that the message of the kingdom included a call to repentance from sin: "From that time on Jesus began to preach "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.""

4. THE SEVENTY-TWO

Later, in Luke Chapter 10 verse 1 Jesus sends out the 72: "After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go." In verses 8 and 9 he adds: "When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is set before you. Heal the sick who are there and tell them, "The kingdom of God is near you."" On their return, the 72 reported (verse 17): "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name." Note that, when Jesus responded to their joyous exclamation, he said to them (v 19):"I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you".

5. THE MODEL FOR US

While we would not dare to compare ourselves with the 12 - the Apostles - we can reasonably equate ourselves to the 72 who were un-named followers, normal believers of no special mention or exalted position either then or thereafter. In the Great Commission set out in Matthew Chapter 28 verses 16 to 20, Jesus says: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you (my italics). And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Some words Of Jesus from John's gospel:

John 14:15: "If you love me, you will obey what I command."

John 14:21: "Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me."

John 14:23: "Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching.""

John 14:24: "He who does not love me will not obey my teaching."

6. POINTS OF SIGNIFICANCE

Disciples of Jesus are required, via the Apostles and believers down the ages, to "obey everything that I have commanded you". Note also John Chapter 14 and verse 12 where Jesus says: "I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing". The relevant commands in relation to evangelism, based on his commands to the 12 and 72 seem clearly to be threefold, namely:

(a) Preach the Kingdom of God

(b) Heal the sick and cast out demons, and

(c) Preach repentance from sin and the nearness of the Kingdom of God in the personhood of Jesus.

As always with Jesus, he never asks us to do anything in our own strength. Consequently, we need to take note of his opening words in verse 18: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me." As believers, that authority to do Jesus' works now rests on us, his agents for the Kingdom.

7. HOW DID JESUS HEAL THE SICK AND CAST OUT DEMONS?

The Gospels are full of examples of Jesus' work in healing the sick and casting out demons. Frequently we find him speaking to the infirmity with a command, for example Matthew 12: 9-13, Mark 7: 31-37, Luke 4: 38-39, Luke 13: 10-17. Many times he would also place his hands on the person on the afflicted part, e.g. deaf ears and blind eyes. In the case of demons, he normally commanded them to go, in the same way as he commanded infirmities.

It is clearly evident that Jesus never prayed for the sick in evangelism, nor did the 12 and 72 whom he trained. We find not one example of Jesus or anyone else ever healing a person by asking God to do the healing. In each case the healing was done by the power of the Holy Spirit working through a human agent.

8. PUTTING IT TOGETHER

Evangelism amongst the lost, done the Jesus way, flows from the "all power and authority" that the resurrected Jesus has received from the Father. Consequently, when we proclaim the gospel of the kingdom, make clear the need for repentance from sin, and exercise Jesus' power and authority over sickness and demons, we are truly doing the work of evangelism according to the "Jesus model". It is because all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Jesus, that infirmities and demons have to go. His authority has been invested in us, so they are required to obey our commands. All we need to do is GO AND BE OBEDIENT .

9. GIFT(S) OF HEALING versus EXERCISE OF POWER AND AUTHORITY?

We differentiate here between the "Gift(s) of Healing" given to the Body of Christ and the exercise of authority over sickness and demons used to reach the lost. Paul makes it clear that spiritual gifts are given by the Holy Spirit to build up the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12 verses 7 to 31). On the other hand, in the exercise of power and authority by Jesus, 12 and 72, and thereafter by both Peter and Paul in Acts, we see in evangelism (and in other situations too) the use of verbal commands given in Jesus' name, normally accompanied by the laying on of hands. Some post-Pentecost examples include:

Acts 3 - Peter heals the beggar

Acts 9 - Peter heals Aeneas and raises Tabitha from the dead

Acts 14 - Paul heals the man lame from birth

Acts 16 - Paul casts out the demon from the fortune-telling slave girl

Acts 22 - Paul relates how Ananias restored his sight

We notice in the book of Acts that the apostles continually declared that people were healed in the Name of Jesus.

10. DOING IT JESUS' WAY BRINGS UNITY AMONGST BELIEVERS

When we evangelise the Jesus way we find the body of Christ united, since both Charismatics and non-Charismatics are able to work on a common ground that is biblical. Doing evangelism the Jesus way avoids any theological conflicts in relation to spiritual giftings, since healing and deliverance done the Jesus way relies on ordinary believers exercising His power and authority, in humility and obedience, and not on a "spiritual gift of healing".

11. WHY DON'T WE TRY TO REACH THE LOST THE JESUS WAY?

We fail to do it the Jesus way because we are afraid of failure and embarrassment. What if nothing happens when we lay hands on an unbeliever - perhaps even a Muslim - and command an infirmity to go in Jesus name? How will we look then? What will unbelievers think if Jesus doesn't show up and the person doesn't get healed/delivered? Satan uses fear and unbelief to paralyse us and make us fruitless. Sadly, we are inclined to forget that Satan was defeated at the cross.

US Doctors Planning To Leave Medical Profession

Dear Brethren in Christ,

There are reports that many US medical doctors are considering giving up their practices because of Obamacare, which will lower payment to them for treating Medicare/Medicaid patients. According to the blog The Debt, one survey of 2,379 doctors showed that 4 out of 10 US doctors are planning to leave their profession within three years. If this comes to pass, there will be a severe shortage of doctors and medical care in the US.

This scenario, as foreboding as it is, could turn out to be redemptive for the sake of the gospel. If the Church could be trained to minister healing to the sick as Jesus taught and commanded His disciples (and as James taught in James 5:14-16), then there will be increasingly more opportunities for the gospel of Jesus Christ. If we proclaim to the lost that Jesus Christ can heal them of their infirmities and they come to us, we can minister healing to them effectively in Jesus' name. When they are healed, we tell them about the One who healed them: He can not only heal them, but more importantly He can save them from their sins and grant them eternal life.

The Lord has already graciously entrusted to us the ministry of training His disciples how to heal the sick as Jesus taught and commanded His disciples when He sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God (Luke 9:1-2; Luke 10:1,9). May He now open doors for us to train the Church on a larger scale to heal the sick for the sake of the harvest during these last days.

Please seek the Lord for us, dear ones! May He make His Church receptive to this kind of ministry. Most churches today are unfamiliar and unreceptive to this kind of evangelism which is nevertheless very scriptural and can be very fruitful for the Great Commission.

Healing Miracles @ Harvest Haven

The participants getting ready to exercise their faith to heal the infirm

On 17 April 2011, after the evening service at the Church Camp organized by Full Gospel Church of Ipoh, Malaysia, we held a healing session for those who needed healing. Eight people received instant healing.

A sister had injured her hip and leg during a basketball game. She had to drag herself to the chair to receive ministry. We did not PRAY for her but COMMAND the pain to go IN THE NAME OF JESUS. The miracle happened and she got up to walk. She even walked up the podium to testify. Her pain had left her. Praise the Lord.

A couple of campers testified that their back pain had left them after they received ministries. A lady with pain in her arm was also healed. She said that upon the third round of commanding, the pain was gone. A pregnant sister also received healing for her right hip. After the commands, the pain left her.

An elderly lady was suffering from arthritic knee pain. She was healed and could bend her knees without pain. A lady testified that her chest pain was gone after the other members of the church commanded. The lady pastor who was interpreting for me was also healed of her back pain even as she ministered to others.

By following the Scripture closely, my fellow ministers and I train nameless disciples how to use authority to heal the sick as Jesus taught. Jesus did not ask His disciples to pray but commanded them in Luke 10:9 to "Heal the sick who are there and tell them, 'The kingdom of God is near you."

We have a great and wonderful God. He is alive and well. Healing many in the mighty name of Jesus.

Why We Should Not Use Tongues For Healing

To understand why we should not use tongues for healing, we have to understand the three Authorities given to the Church.

Jesus had three authorities when He was ministering on this earth. He had the Priestly Authority, Prophetic Authority and the Kingly Authority. Today, these three Authorities have been given to His Body – the Church!

PRIESTLY AUTHORITY - PRAYING AND INTERCEDING
Most modern churches exercise this Priestly Authority regularly by praying and interceding. Since speaking in tongues is talking to God, it falls within this category of Priestly Authority. We DO NOT PRAY for the sick because Jesus has given us authority and power to heal the sick (Luke 9:1, 10:9). In all the records of actual healing in the Bible, Jesus and the apostles did not PRAY for the sick but they commanded, rebuked and demanded the sickness and diseases to be gone. So these have to do with KINGLY AUTHORITY rather than PRIESTLY AUTHORITY.

PROPHETIC AUTHORITY - PREACHING AND PROPHECIES
Churches are also very faithful in exercising the Prophetic Authority. The Word of God is being preached regularly in the churches. There are also prophetic utterances and prophetic interpretations. All these are part of the PROPHETIC AUTHORITY.

KINGLY AUTHORITY - HEALING AND CASTING OUT DEMONS
The only Authority that is seldom used in the churches is the Kingly Authority. This has to do with spiritual warfare and healing the sick. Therefore, whenever we heal the sick, we do not pray and ask Jesus to do the healing. We utilize our God-given authority and power to heal in the name of Jesus. In this instance, we do not speak in tongues or pray. We become Ambassadors of Christ and represent the Lord in casting out demons and heal the sick.

BIBLICAL PARADIGM
We have discovered that if we utilize the KINGLY AUTHORITY to heal the sick, our success rate is very high. However, when we pray for the sick, the success rate drops drastically. In Matthew 17, Jesus was upset with the disciples for not being able to cast the demon out a boy. Why was He upset with them? It was because He had already given them authority and power to heal the sick and cast out demons but they were not able to do so. They lacked the faith to exercise His command. Jesus later told them that their failure was because of their lack of faith.

Therefore nowadays, we do not PRAY TO JESUS TO HEAL THE SICK but OBEY HIS COMMAND and heal the sick in His name.

The Vital Difference between Gift (Charisma) and Anointing (Chrisma)

In many circles the word anointing (or anointed) is used to refer to servants of God who are able to minister to others with supernatural power. It may involve preaching and teaching, prophesying, or healing the infirm and demonized. Such servants of God may also said to be gifted by the Holy Spirit to minister with such power.

There is a definite confusion between gift and anointing here which has led to the possibility of deception within the Church. In Matthew 24 Jesus warns us, “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.” (NIV)

Charisma vs Chrisma

A gift of the Holy Spirit to minister to the body of Christ as taught in I Corinthians 12 is charisma in the Greek text. In the seventeen New Testament verses where the word charisma is found, it is used to refer to either God’s gift of salvation to believers or to a gift given to us by which we can minister God’s grace to other people.

By contrast, the word “anointing” in the New Testament is chrisma in the Greek---according to Strong, the special endowment of the Holy Spirit. Although in form it is very similar to charisma, the word is different in meaning and found only twice in the New Testament.

1 John 2:20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.

1 John 2:27 As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.

We see that in each instance the word refers to an anointing on believers which teaches us about all things in order for us to know the truth. It clearly does not refer to an anointing on us to minister to others in preaching or in prophecy or in healing with supernatural power.

Therefore gift (charisma) and anointing (chrisma) are different from one another. The former is very definitely something given to believers for ministry to others. The latter is clearly not.

How about the word “anointed”?

There are five New Testament instances of the word “anoint” in its verb form chrio in the Greek.

Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed....

Acts 4:27 Indeed Herod and Pontius Pilate met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed.

Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.

Hebrews 1:9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.”

2 Corinthians 1:21 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, 22 set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

We notice that in four of the five instances, the word anointed (or anointing) refers directly and solely to the Messiah Jesus Christ who was specially endowed by the Holy Spirit to heal, deliver, and save. The sole exception to this is in 2 Corinthians 1:21 where believers are anointed (with the Spirit) as a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance. It does not refer to any disciple or servant of God being anointed to minister to others with supernatural power in preaching, prophecy, or healing and deliverance.

So far in this study, therefore, we do not see the words “anointing” (chrisma) or “anointed” (chrio) being used to refer to believers being enabled to minister to others.

“To oil”

There remain two instances in the NIV New Testament where the verb “anoint” is found.

Mark 16:1 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body.

James 5:14 Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.

The Greek word used here is aleipho, meaning “to oil” in the physical sense with actual oil. It is not related in meaning to the words “anointing” or “anointed” which we have been studying.

Preliminary conclusions

Based on our study so far, we see that scripturally speaking the words “anointing” (chrisma) and “anointed” (chrio) should not be applied to disciples or servants of God who have been given a gift (charisma) to minister to others.

Why should we be concerned about this seemingly negligible difference? It is because of the deception which Jesus warned would overtake many in the Church.

Matthew 24:5 “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.” (NIV)

Here Jesus commands us to watch out so that we are not deceived by the many who will come in his name and claim to be the Christ. This verse as it stands makes little sense. This is because any servant of God who comes to us in the name of Jesus claiming to be the Christ will be promptly rejected by the Church. He will in fact deceive no one. In line with this, there is no one in the mainstream Church today who actually claims to be the Christ. But Jesus warns us that there will be many. How can we understand his warning? It is vital that we understand it properly in order that we will not be among the many who will be deceived in the last days. The answer is that we may have misunderstood what Jesus actually meant.

Deception in the Church

In Matthew 24:5 the Greek word for “Christ” is Christos in the Greek. The root of the word Christos is the word chrio which as we have seen means “to anoint.” Therefore Christos literally means “anointed.” Verse 5, therefore, can also be translated: “For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am (the) anointed,’ and will deceive many.”

As justification for this alternate reading, there is a verse in the NIV which refers to Christ and renders the word Christos as “Anointed One” instead of “Christ.”

Acts 4:26 The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the Lord and against his Anointed One.

Interestingly, when Jesus teaches about his Second Coming in Matthew 24, he never refers to himself as “Christ.” He consistently refers to himself there instead as “the Son of Man.” (The same thing is true of the parallel passages in Mark 13 and in Luke 17 & 21.) Whenever Jesus uses the terms “Christ” or “Christs” as rendered by the NIV in Matthew 24, he in fact is referring to a false Christ or false anointed one. He makes a clear distinction and puts distance between "Christ" as rendered in the NIV and "the Son of Man."

This is consistent with the possibility that incidences of the term “Christ(s)” in Matthew 24 should instead be rendered “anointed one(s)”--- as in “false anointed ones and false prophets”.

Matthew 24:24 For false Christs [or false “anointed ones”] and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible.

Today in certain circles, many claim or are said to be “anointed” to minister to others as Jesus did---teaching, prophesying, healing the sick, or casting out demons. But this terminology is not at all in accordance with New Testament Scripture. As we have seen earlier, the correct terminology for referring to this is “gifted” (charisma) by God to minister to others---not "anointed" (chrisma). The root of the word charisma is charis in the Greek. According to Strong, charis carries the meaning of “acceptable, benefit, favor, gift, grace (-ious), joy liberality, pleasure, thanks.” It does not refer to the anointing or to the special endowment of the Holy Spirit which is on Jesus Christ alone to save us.

Therefore the terms “gifted” and “anointed” carry quite different meanings and should be not confused with one another. We can definitely be “gifted” to minister to others, but not “anointed” to minister. Luke 9 and 10 also indicate that disciples have been given power (dunamis) and authority (exousia) over disease and demons in the context of preaching the gospel. But only Jesus Christ was anointed by the Holy Spirit to heal, to deliver, and to save us from our sins by his death on the cross.

Could Jesus be warning us about certain “anointed” ministers who will come in his name and deceive many?

Supporting evidence

Some servants of God who emphasize “the anointing” in their ministries will have practices and supernatural manifestations accompanying them which are not found in Scripture. Examples of this, among others, are the appearance of gold dust and gemstones in their meetings.

Matthew 24:24 For false Christs [or false “anointed ones”] and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible.

Some of these ministers moreover place undue emphasis on receiving offerings and on personal material prosperity.

2 Peter 2:1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you… 2 Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. 3 In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up….

1 Timothy 6:5 and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.

We must therefore be careful and exercise discernment when ministers come in the name of Jesus and claim to be “anointed” or have “the anointing” to minister to us. Our spiritual antenna should go up especially when they spend excessive time hawking their books and tapes and CDs and taking offerings in high-pressure fashion to finance "ministry" accompanied by a lavish lifestyle.

Matthew 7:15 Watch out for false prophets. …22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

What a difference a single alpha can make

Outwardly, charisma and chrisma would appear to be very similar, differing only by the single Greek letter alpha. Unfortunately---almost "deceptively"---they are unrelated. Could this be how the confusion and resulting deception began years ago, albeit perhaps through well-meaning believers?

Conducting Elijah Challenge Seminar in the Philippine

There have been some questions about the Elijah Challenge coordinators making money out of the Elijah Challenge seminars. As the Coordinator of Elijah Challenge Asia, I do not draw a salary or receive any financial remunerations. My church also does not give me money to do this ministry. This is strictly a personal and voluntary commitment.

I have just returned from conducting EC Seminars in the Philippines. I have to pay for my own airfares and hotel bills. There is no strict demand or requirement on the churches to give me any monetary offerings for me to do what I am doing. All of us who conduct such seminars do hope that churches will help us so that we can continue our ministry without additional stress on our own livelihood.

In short, all Elijah Challenge Coordinators of different countries are unpaid volunteers who sense the urgency of the Time. We just like every God-fearing church to win many souls by sharing the Gospel with power and authority.

That is the primary reason why we are busy conducting seminars in different churches. All these seminars are NOT centrally coordinated. individual Coordinators or ministers receive invitations and we arrange our schedules to minister as best as we can.

Those who suggest that Pastor William is no different from other ‘superstar’ evangelists are mistaken. Pastor William is not the only one conducting the EC seminars. Anyone who has gone through the second training can conduct his or her own EC seminar. And there are literally hundreds who have gone through this training.

Many have checked our website and found that everything is free for them to download. There are no costs or hidden charges. Can anyone learn directly from the website? Obviously! It’s just like anyone can learn from the Bible without learning from a pastor or a bible teacher. Yes, some churches need explanations and also actual demonstration of healing. That is why they invite us to conduct Elijah Challenge seminars at their churches. We encourage everybody to take a look at our website. In whatever ways, he or she can learn to evangelize with power, we encourage everybody to do so.

Let’s win as many souls as possible while it is still day for when the night comes, no man can work.

Healing Miracles in the Philippines

God is still healing people today. In the last six days, (29 March to 3rd April 2011) God healed so many people in different places. At the Assemblies of God School of Ministry, the students and lecturers received their miracles. At Navotas Assembly of God Church, many were healed. At Jesus Almighty God International Assembly, participants experienced their miracles. At Angono First Assembly, many came forth to testify that they had received instant healing in the name of Jesus.

We praise God for such wonderful miracles and the hearts of the believers in these churches are now revived. They are taking up the challenge to go two-by-two to win souls with the power and authority of Christ. We are praying that they will have great success in gathering the harvest of the End Times.

The Elijah Challenge End-Time Model of Evangelism Seminar

The trip to Dharabasail took more than seven hours of car ride and ferry crossing. It was quite a harrowing experience travelling by road in Bangladesh. A two-way road became six-way traffic and for us foreigners, we expected an accident to happen at any time. Driving through the city and towns was a noisy affair. The drivers of all vehicles were very quick to use the horns. To add to our stress, the land cruiser that we were travelling in broke down several times. It took a couple of prayer and physically pushing to get this vehicle working. It was after two-third of the journey, at Pastor Proshanta’s house at Faridpur, that we were transferred to a regular van for the remaining three-hour journey. Finally, adding all the time that we spent waiting for the ferry and at Pastor Proshanta’s house, we reached Dharabasail Village after more than twelve hours.

The first Elijah Challenge Seminar session was held the following morning at 10 AM. There were more than 30 pastors and church leaders who attended the seminar. It was not a typical setting where there were chairs or tables. These believers sat on the floor with the ladies and men on separate sides. They worshipped with traditional musical instruments such as an accordion-like organ, drums and cymbals. The worship songs were of the traditional Bangladeshi composition. They seemed like chanting but Grace and I were able to enter into spiritual worship with their songs.

As expected, there was no LCD projector and so we showed them the photos of healing and testimonies through our laptop. With Pastor Proshanta interpreting, the message was getting across clearly to every participant. Later, some of the participants testified that they had never heard such teaching before. They expressed great delight to be able to learn the correct way to heal the infirm with their God-given power and authority.

It's the culture for men and women to sit separately to learn

The participants were taught how to lay hands and command in the name of Jesus. They learned that they were not to mix commands with prayers. The Priestly Authority should not be utilized when it comes to healing diseases and casting out demons. They learned that the most appropriate way was to utilize the Kingly Authority. In the seminar itself, it was easy to find participants who suffered from various infirmities. Before the practicum, since the participants were Christians, we asked them to seek God and get rid of all bitterness, unforgiveness, anger and sins in their lives. Pastor Proshanta led them in a prayer of confession and repentance.

The practicum began with interview – the participants who were doing the healing learned to ask the infirm the right questions about their health condition. We then showed them how to lay hands. They were not to massage, squeeze, shake or shove the infirm when they place their hands on the affected areas. They learned that the appropriate way was to place their hands gently without exerting a lot of weight or force on the infirm. To those who heal an infirm as a team of two or more, we asked them to appoint a leader to give the commands while the rest follow.

I commanded in English and Pastor Proshanta interpreted the commands in Bengali. Everybody followed confidently and by the grace of God, the infirm received their healings. A sister with a pain in her right hand was healed of the infirmity. Another with almost similar pain but in the upper right arm also testified of being healed of the pain. To the delight of numerous participants, their neck, shoulder and back pain disappeared in the name of Jesus. A village pastor with chest pain testified that the pain had left him. A couple of participants had the pain in their legs healed. A sister was seen having hands laid on her abdomen and she was instantly healed. A pastor who suffered from pain in his left sole testified that after his colleagues commanded a couple of time, the pain had finally left him.

During the second day, I taught about Distance Healing. Sharing from Luke 7, I explained about how Jesus healed the Centurion’s servant through distance healing. I went to elaborate on the distinction between ‘power to heal’ and ‘authority to heal’. After that, the participants practised distance healing by healing their loved ones and friends who were situated far from our location. One of them even commanded a lady to be healed in Singapore. The results had yet to come in but we believe that miracles had happened in the name of Jesus.

With real-life experience of healing, the participants were ready for the Revival Convention to which was to be held for three consecutive nights. As many of them were pastors, they expressed great confidence in using their God-given authority and power to heal the infirm while preaching the Gospel.

After more than 8 hours of training time, we covered most aspects of The Elijah Challenge End-Time Model of Evangelism Seminar. The results of the training became very evident during the Revival Convention because many of these trained pastors and leaders were up in the forefront healing many infirm in the name of Jesus.

"Baptist Believers Issue an Elijah Challenge"

"I went to a fellowship I had been attending with people that I met from Baptist Sunday School. We were using a book for study called Don’t Waste Your Life by John Piper. I had missed the fellowship the previous Friday because I was at The Elijah Challenge Basic Training II. I went this past Friday and they decided to drop the book. Tim is the person hosting this group and he is not comfortable with the status quo church. He was reading a new book called Radical and he definitely knows the church is sick. He said, “where is the power in the church?”

I told him that the power is still here just as it was over 2,000 years ago, but that 99% of believers aren’t walking in it. As I was finishing my meal I had three of them looking up scriptures as I quoted them. I had them read the verses aloud and I would explain the meaning to them. I shared some testimonies and directed them to the Elijah Challenge website to read some of the testimonies on my page. His wife read about a little girl’s eye which had been damaged while riding a 4-wheeler and the doctors said she would probably never see again. I had taken authority over her eye in Jesus’ name at church one night, and her eyesight improved---but not 100%. But by the next day doctors examined her and she had 20/20 vision.

Then Tim said he had had enough teaching and testimonies and he wanted proof---the Baptist brethren were putting me on the spot. I said OK, let’s pray. I gave the Lord thanks and asked Him to perform these great things to prove that I was His servant and that Jesus is the only way to the Father.

Tim’s wife had bad allergies, so I commanded them to leave and be healed in Jesus’ name. She was able to breathe perfectly. The next thing was her eye---she had been blind in one eye for several years because she had been poked in the eye by a broom stick. Her eye has no lens or iris. Using authority in Jesus’ name I ministered to her three times with no change at all. But I didn’t want to give up for I didn’t want my future students to lose faith. I went for the fourth time.

After that I asked her if there was any change and she said, “Oh my God!” and began to weep. She said she could see my face! Before she could only see a black blur and some colors. Everyone in the room started praising God! She can see now, but her eyesight is not totally restored. I instructed them to continue to take authority over it and minister to her. I haven’t talked to them since Friday so I don’t know if there has been any further improvement. But she didn’t even have a lens in her eye. Praise the Lord, for He is so good!"
